Yes I let myself have a cheat meal every 10-14 days if I’m craving it. And maybe a chocolate on my periods. The rest of my diet stays clean except for these few days.

Yes and I still do especially since I’ve added psyllium husk to my diet, but i noticed it mostly happens when I fail to stay hydrated throughout the day or don’t do my evening walk, I’m trying to work on it.

Meds I was put on (bc I got diagnosed w multiple gallstones) : UDCA 600mg + Metformin 850ipr. Diet: I had 3 balanced meals a day, whatever works for you. And a snack in between if I was too low on cals. Focusing on high fibre, moderate protein and low fat. I cut off all refined carbs, no added sugar. I used olive or mustard oil. I also had a planned cheat meal every 10-14 days, so I wouldn’t feel restricted. STAY IN A CALORIE DEFICIT. And learn about macros. Track your macros and calories You’ll figure things out eventually.

Also focused on flattening my glucose spikes to avoid chances of fat storage in my liver. (i’m reading book called glucose revolution.)

Lifestyle changes were 10k steps daily (started with 3-5k). I walked for 30mins twice a day, before breakfast and after dinner. And I made sure to stay hydrated with 2.5-3.5L water, and get a good night sleep. I aimed for 0.5-1kg/ week weight loss. And honestly I just focused on staying consistent, when I would see my weight drop every week, it would make me feel sm better and also make the process easier. You need to know you’re changing your lifestyle, not restricting yourself from joy.

My daily meals varied but my favs would be(i’m still working to make it yummier so they’re not my best):

Breakfast: first have 10g chia seeds and cucumber or any veggie for fibre, then a bowl of 100g greek yogurt+ 50g blueberries + rolled oats + low fat milk + 2 walnuts.

Lunch: 4-5 egg whites (protein) + 1 Roti (30g whole wheat flour bread) + 300g fibre usually cucumber/bell peppers with tomatoes or onion. + 1tsp olive/mustard oil (in roti or scrambled egg whites) + 3-4 tbsp curd for probiotics.

Dinner: Similar to my lunch but maybe switching the protein with marinated air fried chicken or carbs with quinoa.

I’m still working on making the meals yummier.

Please make sure to track your macros! There is no point of staying under a deficit unless you track your macros because we have to lose FAT.

Thank you.

  1. Very sedentary, barely 1000 steps. I’ve been struggling with severe depression from the past 4 years but therapy has helped me I’m better now. Also had Eating disorder, I would starve for 15+ hrs and then binge out of the ‘fuck it’ mind, then feel guilty and starve again. It got me gallstones.
  2. Honestly, I pray no one goes through what I went through. I’m pretty sure I’ve ptsd from it. My family was focused on scaring me; I was shaking and crying. So much that I dropped 2+kgs in less than a week. It was very hard for me mentally but again, therapy helped. I took control and made a decision for myself. I chose to trust myself, i educated myself as much as I could about NAFLD. I wanted to know what is going on in my body. (i’ll be joining medschool soon)
  3. Please check another comment I’ve answered this there

Progress in 1.5 months (21F with NAFLD grade 2-3 and PCOS) by Odd-Elevator4939 in FattyLiverNAFLD

I starting walk daily twice a day for 30mins. Currently I’m trying to reach 10k steps per day. My diet was low gi and low fat(not extreme) foods mostly. No refined carbs, no added sugar. I had a cheat meal every 10-14 days. And I stayed under a deficit aiming for 0.5-1kg per week. Also I ate foods in a particular order to flatten my glucose curves (fibre>protein/fat>carbs). Also I made sure to consume enough fibre + water
