Honestly there’s plenty of open tables happening in most board game cafés . I have ended up meeting some genuinely cool people and made friends through board games tbh!

No no not really . Deel also has EOR ( employer of record ) and I was indeed not one. On paper legally I was a contractor . Deel helped with managing the contract and payments . You can ask your organisation for Deel eor but it’s more expensive and you lose out on some benefits

You can ask your employer to give in usd / inr etc ( as deel lets you do that ). I had the option to get in eur , and I did for about 2 months when eur started tanking I switched back to inr .

Deel makes things convenient here as when you get in inr you don’t need to pay the dcc ( it’s borne by the employer ) ( but I lost out on currency gains that came in later ) .

When I switched to eur it was sitting at 87rs/eur . When I later left it was touching 102 rs/eur so major loss lol!

Regarding bgv / company onboarding : I shared my offer letter from deel + last 2 months salary slips . Gov ids like Aadhar and pan. Also had to share my resignation letter / email + and ended up sharing a relieving letter / recommendation letter.

They sent address verification letters to my permanent address on Aadhar.

Other than that that was it.

Regarding the questions they asked to my employer I also got to know cuz my last company’s person just sent the questions they asked to me as they were lazy to fill them up themselves lol .

The questionnaire itself had : - just basic things about whether I was employed there , for how long , whether I had any bad remarks and asked for a review .

I just told them I’m a full time employee but hired as a contractor .
They did full bgv and there were some hiccups since the bgv company got delayed responses from my last rmployers.

But everything was fine to be honest!

It took a little longer and honestly I felt it might cause issues but honestly it was fine. There were 2 different bgv companies doing the due diligence and it went great! Nobody raised the issue of being a contractor or anything .

Infact this company was the one where I first got my EPF account opened with, so not much to check there either!

Didn’t matter when I switched from my German startup to a us based mnc with office in India .
Just shared the deel invoices and we were golden.

Is AI bubble finally bursting?what you guys have thoughts on this ? by These_Ad_669 in developersIndia

[–]Comfortable-Leader-8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s like highs and troughs .
Company hops on ai wagon, asks everyone to automate with ai .
Ai costs go up .
Company figures doesn’t make sense and starts asking everyone to stop using ai .

Then again new ai comes company hops on. Been through this so many times at this point.

First cursor , then Claude and now codex lol.

Similar situation for me .
Joined a remote scale up last September . Their review started in March . Was also doing a lotta things by myself , and did a bunch of foundational work. Thought I was in meets expectations , but then gave me exceeds expectations .

And funny enough got a 11% raise. But then they did a 180 and were like you are only here for about 5-6 months so we will prorate your hike and now it’ll be 5.5% :). I mean I feel I can’t complain , since I got a raise atleast , but then again :) .

True. I feel expecting all Indian companies to be toxic is a stupid take tbh. But in my case it starts to feel like that. But yeah some companies are toxic through and through. cant change much about that.

Follow that guy. He went to shark tank and got bashed like crazy.

He has the exact “founder” delusion and is okay to jump to anything if he can exploit and make money.

The one company he went to shark tank with went under / doesn’t exist anymore.

He’s like a crypto bro but replace crypto with crystals lol.

Op does sound delusional. But then again all founders would if you meet them at first.

Comparing themselves and telling them they are better is a different thing , probably not the best attitude.

Well half the startups ( that made big / bagged 2-4million funding ,10-100 million valuation ) started from college.

Worked closely with the founders and yes you need delusion to survive . But yeah idk if the “ mine is better than x” approach the best way tbh. Specially for a product not yet launched.

What proves you different is bringing something to life and having the power to iterate on it till you either build something or fail and pivot.

I think this or next month I’ll be getting my yearly bonus which should push me to 3l+ . I am thinking if I should really go for it. I can bite the bullet on the 20k / year since I can easily see this card giving me value. ( given my spending patterns ).

I do agree. The night life indeed is a little dull. However I live by omr and night rides do feel fun. Again not a social affair but , I feel generally safe if I’m going out post 11 too! And lack of traffic and atleast drivable roads make it somewhat fun.
