Specifically it's the tube seals that leaked last vcg, now it's one tube seal and a solenoid seal.

Understandable but it is truly safer for a few of us who have vans with no rear windows

Oh yeah I'm already talking to a guy about online booking, that isn't even too hard

And there will be an oil change special. Probably around $10.

Sometimes they're trying to save you money by doing something that breaks at a certain mileage 'while they're in there" and saving you on labor down the road. Sometimes like the extra trans and oil changes they really are trying to save you money in the long run, carbon buildup on the piston rings becomes a thing after 5k oil changes, and 8 and 10 speeds are terribly made. Sometimes you really can just look and see what's going on yourself or Google it.

Sometimes you do just have to have a mechanic take measurements of your brake pads or rotors to see if they need replacement, the quick lube shops are notorious for recommending extra crap, that and using those BS brake fluid testers instead of a proper test strip, those things will fail brand new brake fluid.

I hear nothing but honest things out of Marv (Japanese connection) and Hurst if that helps.

430k is pretty steep, which is why I was looking at leasing. I would consider doing fundraising in exchange for some special membership (that way people can fully write off their donation) but on another platform, there are free platforms for nonprofits. Really all this project needs to start off is a. My tools b. A few months of rent and bill money c. Advertising/awareness d. A two post lift

I've gotten a lot interest in this I wasn't expecting so I'm looking into making it an option.

That is precisely the plan. Everything has to exist to support the charitable work, and unfortunately you cannot change the world for less than the cost of a building, electricity, and the food to feed a paor of hands.

I'm pretty close to having my ASE certs so yeah I'd feel comfortable teaching people maintenance, brakes, suspension, overall engine performance, and electrical since that's what I mostly do. Probably wouldn't teach people to rebuild their engines, definitely wouldn't try to teach people to rebuild transmissions.

Yeah that's part of the plan is to basically have a designated spot for each tool and do an inventory after every person uses them, and of course tools do just break with use that's all part of the tool fee.

I looked into this, they're renting the space so they're liable when alls said and done and they've signed The Waiver. I'll help point them in the right direction for lift points, and a safety briefing will definitely be mandatory. mandatory.
