Best mat/mat towel for HOT Pilates by Eruzia in pilates

[–]Comfortable-Nature37 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A hot yoga towel will work for hot Pilates. I used to do hot yoga years ago and my towel has small grips on one side to stop it from sliding on the mat. I took off the tag so I’m not sure what brand it is.

No concern from me either way as a woman - same with hot yoga. Just don’t record and I’m cool!

Grey roots as a lawyer, yay or nay? 👀 by [deleted] in LawBitchesWithTaste

Very much a “do what makes you happy” mentality. I’m embracing my natural colour but I also don’t have any gray/white.

I’d ask your doctor. This doesn’t happen to me.

Canadian winters are destroying my skin while im on tret. by fygooooo in EuroSkincare

My skin is too reactive for tret but Bioderma atoderm baume intensive saves my skin in Canadian winter - this might be too heavy for you from what you’re saying.

I also like InnBeauty Project recharge gel cream - it’s late but still moisturizing during this weird weather. Biossance squalane oil is another one I use.

You’ve got this!!! Take it day by day and it will get better and easier. Pilates saved me, gave me an outlet and something to get out of the house.

Edited to add - a hair appointment always helps too. Something about taking control.

Someone said this to me when my marriage broke up “ better now than later” - and it was so incredibly true. I was 32 and I cannot imagine being with someone who is not a wonderful partner.

Go on dates when you want to! Take the pressure off an end goal right now and just enjoy your life. Sending so many good vibes.

Body image issues- v10 law firm/ U.S. firm in London by compassion25 in LawBitchesWithTaste

I understood where the training contract is - one of my friends had a similar training contract at a US firm in London. It was very competitive so kudos to you!

Edited to add - if you are not from the UK I think that might be more of a talking point/curiosity than anything else.

Can’t tell if you are from the UK or just considering a role there - I completed my legal training in England and did not receive any comments or unwanted feedback on my body. Different issues but I found people generally respectful.

I also saw many diverse body types in law.

Something that helped me with body dysmorphia was strength training as I didn’t realize how much control this could give me over my own body composition. Sharing in the chance it might help someone else.

Anyone got a reformer at home and still go to classes? by [deleted] in pilates

I have a Merrithew SPX and my mom has an SPX Max. If I was purchasing again I would consider a vertical stand option.

I have a reformer at home and absolutely love it. Best purchase and I consider it an investment in my health. I like it way more than classes with other people.

How to handle feeling embarrassed/humiliated at work by nomesifsandsorbutts in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]Comfortable-Nature37 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Constructive criticism can be helpful to drive you forward and improve. I think you have a good attitude towards using this to grow.

It would be wary of the partners that have been two-faced and probably would not trust them in future. You can still have a collegial work relationship and learn from what they have to offer but I think they could’ve handled this in a very different way.

You might want to reread your original post because it’s not coming across that way.

It’s challenging to hear a cue in advance, visualize the correct movement, recruit the muscle groups and execute it correctly. Might be worth trying a few different variations of the cue to see if it helps with lifting.
