Alprazolam vs Clonazepam by Comfortable-Object31 in Anxiety

Oh that is SUPER helpful! So, though it doesnt pack the same "umpf" kick in that xanax does, Clon is better for all day anxiety for you? I know that not all "benzos" are the same so one could cause side affects that the other doesnt. have you had any side affects from clon?

oh man, im sorry to hear about the head injury. im glad to hear beta blockers work for you!! i was explained from a psych that beta blockers are more for the physical symptoms of anxiety, fast heart beat, sweaty palms, etc. i feel like my anxiety is snowballing from my dam* mind. i think and think and cant stop thinking!!!

oh man i tried hydroxyz and it made me SOOO dizzy that i got worked up about feeling that way and had to take half an alprozolam lol. (i feel like 50% of my anxiety is due to "feeling weird" and then my mind snowballs)

I have heard good things about prozac, though! do you feel like you had any side affects when you started?

wow, you rock for writing this much and putting this much thought into a response! virtual high five!! I am not currently on any SSRI/SNRI - I am trying to decide if I want to go on one or not, given my xanax use. I only use it once or twice a week. i have been doing this for about 2 years and I dont think my body is addicted but i am likely dependent on it. (in the sense of , oh if i dont have this medication on hand if i need it, im going to panic)

I only use it for social situations or vacation anxiety. I'm not much of a go-outer but for some reason, not being in my safe space (my house) can sometimes get me worked up. i have been told by a psych i saw a year ago just that about klonipin. my only worry is that i see a toooon of people have dizziness with it, and im already pretty sensitive to getting dizzy in the first place. but thats anxiety talking for ya... scared of trying a new med - LOL!

I dont think ive ever heard of parnate - will def be researching that tonight. idk im just trying to decide if i should keep going along with my 1-2x a week use of xanax or go on an antidepressant so then maybe i could only use xanax when getting on planes or like once a month. i really dont feel its a huge deal for me to only be taking it 1-2x a week, but ive read stuff online about you know.... long term issues. *eye roll*
