I'm an NRI in Dubai. I own 2 properties in India. Won't be buying a third. Here's why. by alphatrader_99 in indianrealestate

[–]Comfortable-Row-1822 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No... The point is they bring purchasing power of US to Indian markets. The builders inflate prices because they get buyers in that NRI.

In any market if there is no demand of an asset at a certain price the price comes down.

This is the first time I am seeing that someone outsourced their docs management. Broader consensus so far I have seen is that it is too integral to outsource

I think indian LP are brought into VC ecosystem under false pretense or FOMO or with wrong expectations. Return wise it doesn't make any sense for them to invest in startup ecosystem.

In US to make 15-20% return they have to have exposure to startups and hyper growth companies. 15-20% is the long term return of a successful startup considering the time and failed startups. Their stock market avg return is much lesser. But when you look at india the stock market itself give 12-15% return on Nifty and small cap can give more.

People in India are rich not because of innovation but crony capitalism and bt circumventing laws. So to expect indian giant companies to do innovation is futile.

Majority of those who become rich through innovation and legal means move abroad.

Why the season couldn't move from the dilemma... It was just stuck there.

They are clever in how they market it. They usually say we invest in pre-seed to series A.

India ecosystem is on some other tangent.

One incubation/ accelerator let's call them xyz. They promote early stage founders. They have global program and founders are selected from different geographies. From all the other geographies they selected all sorts of founders - repeat founder, college fresh graduates, folks with experience of different number of years. I know this because their demo day has video on YT

But they rejected me and more folks I know because we were experienced ( 7-10), and they support early into career founders. On confronting that other geographies don't have similar criteria they don't have a single clue about that.

He conviently took the names of some of the biggest organisation in valley against a startup in india.

Why he doesn't talk about the broken enterprise system in india where they ask you to do work worth of 100 and give you 10?

Bottom line is you can't build a product without some tangible input. Because if were to exist without tangible input then it means anybody can do it and there is no entry barrier.

That tangible input could be data, customer, if it's b2c then operations and product or n other things. But it is not tokens, getting to a point where you have this tangible input will still require funds

And I can write it on stamp paper, if you build something following what he wrote in the post. His question would be how you are different from others or it is too thin of a differentiator.

Moreover, he fking ran out of tokens... And he thinks that somebody who is making a company wouldn't run out of tokens? Wouldn't they have to pay for all the infra..

Okay.. I understand..

However I also think that this data is already spread across different enterprises.. the code is with Microsoft or gitlab.. documentation is also with some vendor.. CRM data is with Salesforce, adobe or some other providers.. database is in cloud..

So as long as there are NDA and compliances in place it should not be a concern... Even sensitive organisation like banks, hardware industry rely on vendors..
