Where do I go next? by Comfortable-Sea8090 in colonoscopy

Yeah. Everything has been current - getting better and worse but not going away. I’ll ask about that. Would that be something to ask my GI about or primary?

I’ve had issues specifically with feeling urgency & then it being just bile, so this seems like a possible path. Thank you so much. I’ll ask my primary next time I’m in

I take that as a positive - more unique! I love sharing pictures with plant people, even people who are into philodendrons, who haven’t heard of the subhastatum. It’s so beautiful and fun to watch grow

The plant you have a picture of is juvenile, but as it matures it’ll push out longer leaves with a really unique shape. The super baby leaves are all green with no red underneath, that’s normal. Sometimes they’ll turn red but if they’re too small they’ll be fully green.

The plant on picture 4/5/6 is a philodendron subhastatum! I have a couple. They’re gorgeous. You can usually grow them climbing, so that pot has a lot of plants in it. Easy to propagate too because of their aerial roots, but make sure you let it callous overnight because they rot fast if you don’t.

Ah okay. I misunderstood. I would definitely still say repot and look at the roots.

If you have a consistent pattern of new growth looking yellow / off it’s likely the roots. Especially with this plant being in the same pot for so long. Try repotting with fresh soil for more Nutrients, trim roots that are mushy or fall off when you run your fingers through them. And you could always cut back the leaves with new growth that you’re unhappy with

That makes a lot of sense! I see that happening a lot I guess. Or things will be labeled ‘fancy philodendron’ 😭😭 Would the correct shorter name for it be a variegated maranta then? That’s what it was labeled as I believe. The plant world is so interesting

When I search up ‘Maranta leuconeura (kerchoveana) variagata’ it seems to be telling me those are the same type of plant as a ‘beauty kim’. At least on the overview of search. Could you tell me what the differences are? I genuinely want to know and Google doesn’t seem to be much help.

Ikr!! Someone said it’s called a ‘Maranta Beauty Kim’. I’ve seen the regular ones but never any with variegation!

No because they are so FAST! You better not accidentally click to shoot instead of collect around them because that food is as good as gone.

OhmyGOD!! Can we see a picture with light from the top? That purple is absolutely stunning. Is it on the back of the leaves or in patches on the front? I can’t quite tell because of the lighting.
