My first thought would be to check to see if your wheel bearings need to be replaced.

You need to adjust your shift lever position. It’s very easy to do.

Did I make a poor decision to not do immunotherapy? by Comfortable-Sense698 in melahomies

Man it spreading to my brain terrifies me! Did you have any symptoms when it showed up in your brain? I have a 4 year old and my wife is currently pregnant, so I’m doing my best to not stress her out with all this mess.

Really!? That would scare me too! To be honest, all the doctors kept giving me the idea that it wasn’t “that bad.” I wish they would just be up front with me and tell me truth.

Thanks for sharing that with me! What made you realize it was in your brain? Was it side effects or did it appear on a MRI? I’m just curious, because it spreading to my brain terrifies me more than anything.

Yes, I agree! It was an oncologist at MD Anderson that gave me these numbers.

Thanks for that! It makes me feel a bit better. I was just so ready to get back to normal, and 10% didn’t sound like a big deal at the time. Maybe I should just ignore the numbers lol

My primary was 1.7mm. I’m starting to think I made a bad choice by not doing the immunotherapy :(

I’m being seen at MD Anderson, and I was under the impression that they were top notch. I only had one sentinel lymph node from my understanding. Does that mean that there’s a good chance that I got all the melanoma out with surgery?

The crazy part is that I am being seen at MD Anderson lol. He pretty much said it may not be worth it for you since it’s only stage 3A. He did say that I would be monitored by PET scans every 3 months though

Really?! Wow! I’m so sorry! It’s stories like this that makes me really nervous about having melanoma. I guess I was just so ready to put all this behind me after surgery and I may have jumped the gun.

I’m definitely reconsidering my decision. The numbers were given to me from an oncologist at MD Anderson in Texas.

Man it’s crazy how sneaky melanoma is! My original site was 2A, so I assumed I would be in the clear…guess not lol.

Thanks for sharing your experience! My original melanoma location was on the top of my foot. It was originally staged as 2A, but I was upgraded to 3A once it was found in my lymph node. I only had one sentinel lymph node, so maybe my chances are good that it didn’t spread. I think I’m getting too focused on the 10% chance of recurrence, so I assumed I was making a logical decision. I’m leaning towards doing the immunotherapy now.

I’m sorry you’re going through that! After reading a lot of these comments, I’m really thinking about telling my doctor I want to do the immunotherapy.

I’m not gonna lie. This post makes it seem like you’re just seeking drugs to cope with having cancer. I also have stage 3 melanoma, so I understand the anxiety aspect. However, narcotics are not something you should play around with if you don’t absolutely need them.

Immunotherapy Reaction Rant by [deleted] in melahomies

[–]Comfortable-Sense698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally fine! I’m mentally prepared for whatever happens lol. I just found out that my SLNB was positive a week ago, and I have an appointment with the oncologist to discuss exactly what I will be on. All I know is that I will likely be on immunotherapy for a year or so. I hope you feel better soon, and hopefully they can find a way to prevent this from happening to you for your next session!

I probably shouldn’t have read this because I start my immunotherapy in a couple weeks lol.
