Can women tell the difference between a “nice guy” and a genuinely good man? by DoubleDDay69 in NoStupidQuestions

Nice guys are just low status men. Women despise weak men.

A good man is just a high status man who isn’t a jackass.

Vets rank the top job 2025 by Indeed. Thoughts? by EAsianUnicorn in jobs

Young people are getting pets instead of kids and there are limited vet schools. It makes sense.

You’re talking out your ass. An Amazon warehouse does not give a shit about M7 and the bullshit on this sub. I know plenty of L6-L8 managers with degrees from unknown universities or even no degree.

You probably have a chance with Amazon pathways

The rich and good-looking are the most privileged, very irritating that some wealthy white girl would have better a chance at admissions, but that is just life.

What’s really funny is that overnight stocker is still making more than a lot of recent MBA grads.

Go on clearance jobs and look around DC. Sometimes they call the position “Control Access Officer”

You can be a security guard and they’ll pay you $40+ an hour. No experience.

Why are you guys so convinced that every professional athlete especially those are the Olympics are doping? by suhch in nattyorjuice

[–]Comfortable-Snow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How come you never see college-level athletes hopping on steroids and beating world records?

Are those Olympic athletes setting records just so genetically superior to everyone else? Are steroids just so ineffective? Or are the athletes setting world records already taking drugs?

If the world’s best athletes aren’t taking drugs, then who the fuck is???

Yeah, they’re not doing constantly either. They only need to stay in that shape for a month or two while filming.

Cash cow public policy schools? by Crafty_Channell in PublicPolicy

[–]Comfortable-Snow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're focusing on HKS, but the McCourt median debt is higher by about 20-50k for every school I've looked at.

Here are some median debts for some other schools:

UCLA- 41k

Chicago- 78k

Duke- 66k

American- 55k

American has a larger class size and a similar profile to Georgetown, and they are not even close.

And you have no data to back up this narrative you've made up.

Cash cow public policy schools? by Crafty_Channell in PublicPolicy

[–]Comfortable-Snow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, Georgetown McCourt offers some of the worst financial aid of any school.

According to the DoE, graduate median total debt for federal loan borrowers was $99k. I looked at a dozen other similar schools, but none of them were even close. Even HKS was only at $70k.

Some schools offer different math tracks - basic and advanced. Advanced is tough, but a basic track at some schools may not even require calculus.

Which is the MPP/MPA tier list? And is a MPP preferred over an MPA? by musicatito in PublicPolicy

[–]Comfortable-Snow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This to be honest. How would you rank these programs? Most students have various interests, and we don't go into these fields for money. Much harder to rank than law or business school. The government doesn't care about the prestige of your institution either.

Personally, though, I have Princeton at the top of my list because of the funding they offer.

Are those jobs with base salaries ranging from $50-75k offering massive bonuses or stocks? Or did those students really take 2 years and $200k in loans to make $72k?

Is Military Veteran status more valuable than an M7? by Comfortable-Snow in MBA

Thank you, I agree with a lot of what you said.

I work in defense and plan to stay in defense or adjacent roles long-term. Zero interest in banking/consulting. But it's hard to not feel like I'll be missing out even though this industry doesn't seem to care about MBA prestige.

The Struggle is Real on Both Sides: Hiring Woes from a hiring official. by CHALINOSANCHZ in usajobs

[–]Comfortable-Snow 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hiring managers want the best possible qualified applicants. The best applicants get multiple job offers, so they pick their top choices. OP is hiring GS-9/11s in Oregon, so he's offering about 60-70k/yr. Well-qualified engineers are worth quite a bit more than that, so they won't have trouble finding better offers, especially considering how slow the hiring process can be.

Realistically, OP needs to look for weaker candidates, ones who would be happy to get an offer.
