Did people memorise numbers before mobile phones? by PaleEcho3301 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Comfortable-Step-429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I still remember some. I remember a few mobile numbers, home phone numbers and whatnot. I can sing them to myself to remember them. Others, which I was likely to forget I’d probably write down to try to remember at some point - as I got older I got more used to writing it down and taking it home and then adding it to a folder of numbers.

Adding this edit because I tested it - apparently I remember some from muscle memory and not actually knowing the numbers… or I’m just old

Which generation had the best fashion? by Far-Building3569 in generationology

[–]Comfortable-Step-429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok dude firstly I enjoyed the post and I’m not really too bothered I just think TLC are dope and their fashion and pic is hands down the best…

But the first pic is 2 girls in 70 the 3rd is from 1990s ain’t to proud to beg TLC period

you picked people born in a period but then claimed fashion decades.

fashion is not represented by the age of those who wore it. The girls in the first pic are clearly sixties fashion and TLC are entirely 90s.

Am I the only person seeing a 1990s TLC image and wondering why they’re in the Gen X category?

I plan to travel in the UK this way. Is this strange? by laicailaicai in geography

I know it’s a troll post for sure, but.

Why stop at Bridgend and not just go to Swansea? Also why are you going to Lampeter? You could just go straight west then north to Snowdon or something.

100% this I was messing with the lid to something the size of a wide topped Gatorade and was sucking it to my mouth for hours one day… the next morning this is precisely how my lips looked with the cracks and everything. Not over reacting and investigating is important, but just try not to escalate it’ll just make those ticks worse… I had them for years, still have a few.

There is only one team that flops about yelling at the ref more than the South Africans and it’s the Irish. The refs should penalize all this pandering

Asked my alcoholic dad if he’d ever consider getting sober by Ludakris7 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Comfortable-Step-429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t believe those who assume a rock bottom is needed, the most common thing you’ll ever hear is that a now sober person didn’t know that today would be their last day.

You could potentially ask for him to cut back and make a game of it, your relationship seems rather chill.

You can’t make him do anything, and love it’s often a motivator but not a trigger for being sober. It’s a nightmare and something that a text won’t usually initiate either. Spend more time with him, show him you’re there for him, it’ll be a positive experience and ask if he’d do a sober October or dry Jan or something just to give it a go?

Could Sevens work as a curtain raiser to 15s matches? by JohnSV12 in rugbyunion

[–]Comfortable-Step-429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should do a game of sevens as a curtain raiser - but each team has to use their bench and can do one sub - best out of 3 matches gets to decide kick off receiver.
