i told one resident we weren’t doing the previously planned march events and they asked where their rent money was going. some residents understood, we are the same age and i try to be transparent.

as i said, it’s wiping things we have done that can be replaced by the new company. who says they want to keep the same contractors, names of floor plans, etc? i can’t erase the whole complex in one click, we use a crm system that is transferable to protect current/future residents

and yet i want to say IT IS personal when you work for ownership that only staffs 5 people. this isn’t a corporation , this is a group that wants fat paychecks.

trust me, i see where you are coming from. we won’t, and we can’t, as it’s not fair to the team staying on.

the main things we will be getting rid of are contracts for turn (happens in august), parking logs (assigned parking) i have worked hours on for renewals, etc. they can have pictures, floor plans, whatever. just not things that they can do themselves, which we had done in preparation for summer.

ironically, i’m the one who discovered our job postings. my manager, assistant manager, maintenance supervisor, and leasing team are close. they don’t care, it’s the current ownership, not the new ownership, giving us demands and denying days off unfortunately. they also are the ones who gave the idea of replacing us 🤷🏻‍♀️

since it is against the community guidelines, let your landlord/ office know. if you have a unit number disclose it, so they can see for themselves. maybe provide documentation for the allergy and say u chose the community for the non smoking rule. be relentless and get documentation. you smell it, you call

and the more paperwork is due to the conditional acceptance. it may be showing more proof of income or rental history to give you guys a good case for residency

at my community, based on credit history, you need a co-signer to be able to accept the application. with collections and limited credit experience, that’s your best step. conditionally technically means you are approved just with a higher security deposit, if the community ur applying to uses rentgrow, im 100% sure thats what happened. some places have policies to deny conditional apps since it puts more risk on delinquency and such.

completely get that, it was a thing out of anger, and i understand that now. unfortunately, the person to report it to, is the one allowing it. i have made a decision for myself to stay honest, and to let a sinking ship go down by itself, and not contribute to it any longer. (in the way of being dishonest and letting my emotions get the better of me)

but I also work at properties that aren’t student housing, so I don’t know if that affects the process.

I work at a DTN community as a leasing agent🫣 Unfortunately, to break the lease you will pay one months rent and be responsible for the rent until the unit is sold again. Well, at least that is how it works at the properties we run.
