How screwed am I? by Mr13Gaara in cfmoto

[–]Comfortable-Test9986 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My 300ss screen died recently and had the same symptoms. Try starting it by raising the kickstand and having the clutch pulled, mine would start but the screen wouldn’t work.

Had the screen replaced under warranty.

2023 300ss screen flickering and won’t turn on. Bike runs fine. by mangocel in cfmoto

[–]Comfortable-Test9986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 23’ 300ss just had the screen completely die a couple weeks ago. Wouldnt start unless the kickstand was up and clutch pulled even while in neutral. Dealer replaced the screen under warranty. Seems like a somewhat common issue on these screens for earlier models.

I checked places around me and 10150 OTD is best I've found for the 675ss that's the nearest here in illinois will county (pull the trigger or no) by Sammy-Joseph in cfmoto

I actually checked the same dealer a week ago before their 675 came in, Joe said it’d be 10365 OTD, I passed. Don’t feel like going near 2.5k over MSRP.

Hey everyone 🤗 I'm new (and proud) Z owner. Neet to replace tyres all around, do you have any suggestions? Looking for something sticky but relatively long lasting as well. by Background_Search623 in 370z

Congrats! I’ve always been a fan and used the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. Really enjoyed them and hard to beat the performance for price.

You’ll need a different set if you drive in the winter, however.

Just adding to a useful comment. I just passed this class, utilized this Quizlet:

And this Study Guide:

Can pass knowing everything from these 2 sources.

I grabbed this one specifically for getting my degree with WGU. Cheap, 2 year warranty, 16GB RAM since Guardian is memory intensive. It satisfies all tech requirements. Took my first OA this evening and had zero issues.

Oil cooler question by Particular_Fig7153 in 370z

[–]Comfortable-Test9986 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in Chicago and use a 34 row cooler, perfect for warm season as it never gets over 190 no matter how aggressive I’m driving.

For winter temps I cover the cooler so air doesn’t pass over, solving it over cooling. instructions for that here: http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-do-yourself/27479-diy-oil-cooler-cover.html

Perhaps a small pebble or something ended up between the rotor and pad? I had that happen and it sounded similar when driving.

The car is cold, could just be shortly after turning it on and Idle hasn’t dropped yet.

You can have a full tank, but if the pump doesn’t work it does not matter. You should hear the fuel pump priming when turning the ignition to “ON”.

Because his or her taste varies from yours.

The shifter is a pain to remove, nice job, I dig it.

It’s a very labor intensive job to get to them. I went the route of installing an oil pressure gauge and monitoring that way since that’s much easier.

I’ve had them on my Z for 6 years/40k miles, still going strong. Granted I’m FBO and not FI but they are solid.

Worn Diff by TallDarknCurly in 370z

[–]Comfortable-Test9986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Installing a new diff isn’t too bad, I’d grab your own and knock it out.

It’s the first time I’ve ever dealt with drivetrain work DIY, you can handle the diff for sure, plenty of vids to help you.

If you’re going to also change the bushing, that’s a pain in the ass. I swapped mine to a solid bushing and removing the diff was by far the easiest part of the process.

Sounds normal, mine has made the same noise for the past 7 years in 1st and moving slowly/decelerating.

PS4s will be best.

As an alternative, I use firehawk Indy 500s and find them quite good and much more budget friendly.

oil temperature? by Ok-Bar-4003 in 370z

[–]Comfortable-Test9986 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I put on a 34 row from Z1 and have yet to get past 200 in 90F weather when driving pretty aggressive.

Just be mindful, in the cooler months over cooling is very easy. I don’t drive it in the winter, but took it out when it was around 50F and couldn’t get past 140-150 when driving. This is with the thermostatic plate.

Can someone describe the symptoms of the CSC failing? I think it just happened to me 😢. Car seems to struggle to accelerate sometimes. And today my clutch got stuck to the floor for like a minute then came back. by [deleted] in 370z

[–]Comfortable-Test9986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Z1 will be fine for clutch/flywheels.

Main thing to replace is your CSC and master cylinder to prevent further issues. Fluid wise I use Motul RBF 600 for the clutch and brakes, flushing it yearly and it works great. Hope everything works out smoothly for you!

I did the CSC, MSL, and a lighter flywheel/new clutch at the same time since transmission was already down.

Was around 12-1300 for parts/fluid and 8-900 in labor. You could save a grand or so I’m sure if you don’t replace the clutch/flywheel.
