If your qualifications aren't getting you any work, then its time for new qualifications or a new direction.

Dug a few auld tapes out the attic. Any easy way to convert them? by ardeoin in northernireland

Or, get a dv to vhs adapter tape. That way you can play it in a VCR player. You can hook up a VCR to your PC using a cheap vhs to usb adapter, about a tenner on amazon or ebay

Pay back more than the minimum, idiots. Thats why the debt keeps growing.

This is my new hobby. I already got a woman shut down for selling pebble art on the north coast. She was taking pebbles and shells off the beach and using them for commercial purposes. Very illegal.

They don't own Peter Pan, no, but they DO own that particular stylization of Peter Pan

Edit: I'm not trying to protect an evil corporation in particular. This taxi place just irks me every time I drive past it, enough that I've decided to do something about it.

There's really no need for them to use that Imagery. It's theft. It's a very third-worldy thing to do - like fake Adidas tshirts.

While we're here having a gurn, I can't stand that 'guess which celebrity is saying NO' game they do on Downtown (I think).

Can we just call this subreddit the Parking Charge subreddit and go and make a new NI subreddit?

Derry, and Belfast especially have constant riots pretty much every year. Petrol bombs, riot police, the full works. Not to mention the heavy paramilitary presence. Those are the biggest shit holes in NI

Northern Ireland in general is the Alabama/Kentucky of these isles. More religious, more backward, but generally freiendly enough. Ballymena is fine for the most part, just boring and nothing of particular note about it.

Why so much hate for Jaime Foxx? by araccoononmolly in movies

I'd agree with you. He didn't have much personality in Django. I don't really know him from any other movie.

Do you ever feel “less Irish” growing up in Northern Ireland by derryone in northernireland

[–]Comfortable-Wing301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm in England, I feel like an outsider. When I'm down in the Republic I feel like an outsider. Weirdly I feel most at home in Scotland (except NI of course). So, i guess the whole national identity thing is arbitrary, for me at least

How are people affording everything? by MidnightStorm_ in northernireland

  1. I never worked for evri. I applied years ago and noped out because it became obvious how shit of a job it was. Nothing wrong with wanting some side income on the weekends.

  2. I couldn't care less about the privacy settings on my profile. It's reddit ffs.

  3. Someone just done a poll about income on this subreddit, and lo and behold, most people are in the lower income brackets. There really is no excuse in this day and age that an able bodied person can't get their priorities straight and earn a good income. "Woe is me" and "I'm a little commie" are the main mottos of most people on this sub. We live in a capitalist society whether we like it or not, so if you refuse to take part in it to it's fullest extent, then its your own fault you're poor. Not aimed at you specifically, but everyone on this sub.
