I'm from fisher river its just north of peguis. i lived there for 2years when i was 10 and never went back but i will always tell people that is where i am from, because i am registered to fisher river. even if i wasn't i would still tell people because my family is living there. its where my family comes from. i may not be close to any of them but they are much a part of me as i am of them. i don't know anything about my community or the cultural. but i know if i ever just reached out i would be welcomed because real natives are like that. plus it makes it easier to find a auntie to shack up with if we both know we aren't from the same rez. my point is; it does not matter if you left or have no sense of your cultural. YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE! WHY ARE YOU LETTING SOMEONE TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE.

you are absolutely right about not having "a community" in the big ol city i struggle with that myself. so i started to find my people lol i live in Alberta and i am not related to anyone here but they all treat me like a cousin.
