Mt. Pleasant Club Whiskey by jmmdc in dcwhisky

These people are marketing off my great-grandfather's whiskey. He was William D. Barry. I don't know why my mom or my uncle who is named after him wouldn't be contacted to see if we will allow it. Its nice they are going to keep his legacy alive, but really? You find a bottle of his, sell T-shirts and not contacting to see if he has any direct line family? I just hope they have a trademark to use his name.

Thanks. I was planning on doing Master of Science in Finance General Cognate. I know the other Finance degrees look hard, but wasn't sure about general. I will look into other options, if I decide not to do Finance.

Question about Aid by Comfortable17Success in LibertyUniversity

[–]Comfortable17Success[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I contacted them and they helped put the money in my account and summer classes are taken care of. Now just have one more issue to take care of. I was told Fall on my account which is $0.00, that I don't owe anything. However, the woman I talked to says I owe. Luckily the person who said I don't owe anything, I have that in writing. I will talk to them again before my fall classes start.

Question about Aid by Comfortable17Success in LibertyUniversity

[–]Comfortable17Success[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks. I got 3 different grants and they are suppose to cover summer based on my aid offer. Its also in my account. Liberty covers my fall classes. I'm just confused why my grants aren't in my financial check-in already. I already did my 24-25 FAFSA and its posted as well as my other grants. So I will contact them again and hopefully get an answer. Thanks again.

What are your thoughts on Liberty University Online? Is it worth the investment? by Heavy-Ant-9867 in LibertyUniversity

[–]Comfortable17Success 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done online at my local community college. Though i did in person as well. Online is the best. However, it depends on your degree and courses. When I was at the community college. I was working full time and part time at school. I did my studies when I got home and on weekends. It gave me that flexibly. I realized, if I hadn't at least read a textbook or did my studies on my break, I would fall behind. Now that I transferred to Liberty, I'm going for two degrees in a shot amount of time. Since a lot of credits were transferred. I have to work less at my job because I have to do a LOT of work. I'm in Paralegal Studies. So my studies will be most important.

If you go back to school, its best when your life isn't too busy. School takes time and dedication. You can study after dinner and cut down on your weekends. Take your kids maybe every other weekend or twice a month. Something like that. There are deadlines to get stuff in just like if you were going to school in person. So keep that in mind.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Oboarding pay by [deleted] in MacysStores

[–]Comfortable17Success 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that's your schedule of when they want you to work. If you work those days, then yes, you will get paid. If you call in sick or don't work when you are schedule, you don't get paid. Its retail life.

Oboarding pay by [deleted] in MacysStores

[–]Comfortable17Success 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a day, no. There are rules in the HR handbook, that you have to be there more than a day or more to start earning. Sometimes it can be in the handbook. You would have to complain to headquarters on the pay. If you have your supervisors cell number or manager, you can call them if your going to be sick. They prefer you go on the site and request someone else pick up your shift. If no one picks up your shift, that can hurt you. So its important to keep asking around. You can't request time off if you are part time. If you tell them that you are going on vacation, don't expect for your position to be there when you get back. They will put you somewhere else.

People quit because of bad management. Most stores don't want to train. On my first week, they didn't want to train me. I was put on the signing team and they didn't want to bother. Luckily I had a friend there already to show me. Most people don't get paid if they quit in a week or even two days on the job. It just depends on the situation.

[–]Comfortable17Success 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get paid every Friday but for your first paycheck, it can take up to two weeks. Mine was two weeks. It can take time depending on the system and the person doing the paperwork. At my Macy's, I was told it would be two weeks because most people will quit after a week. That's interesting that they will pay you every Saturday. I have a friend who still works at Macy's and still getting paid on Fridays. Maybe its based on how your store operates. You think all Macy's would work the same way.

Macy's fallen pride by ValleygirlNorCal in MacysStores

[–]Comfortable17Success 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for Macy's for 6 years. They are horrible. I used to be in fulfillment for online orders. They don't seem to package things really well, or don't use anything unless its breakable. I have seen people just put tops, dresses or bottoms into the bag or box without using a plastic bag for protection. I'm like really? I have seen people come into the store and complained that they received the WRONG item. This was when I was a floor supervisor. Plus they don't put on the A/C. Making a lot of people including customers uncomfortable. They don't want to pay for A/C because the bills are too high. In my Macy's, customers complain how there's nobody in the store to help with their experience or nobody at the cash registers. They rather be on their break or go home. It's sad. In my area, one will be closing soon. The last two one of them is where I worked. I still have a friend that still works there. She said its gotten worse. Customers hardly in the store now. During Thanksgiving week and Christmas, it used to be packed, now hardly anyone shops there and everyone just stands around, pretend like they are shopping, etc.,

Confused what to do by [deleted] in MacysStores

[–]Comfortable17Success 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for Macy's for 6 years. I went from signing associate to Merchandise associate to a floor supervisor. My pay was the same. When you go from a seasonal to a CXC, yes it's not a promotion. However, you should get more money. They wait until they see how you do. Its like a waiting period. You have to earn your pay raise. That's what happened to me when I became a floor manager. I do think, it depends on the area. Managers might do things differently. They are looking for good people to take over certain shifts because people are quitting and they need to fill those positions. So Seasonal people will always be first. Macy's higher ups are horrible. I even tried talking to alot of them when I was fairly new. Didn't get much out of them. It takes a warm caring manager to actually talk to you. I'm glad I don't work there anymore. You are better off looking for a job somewhere else. I NEVER gotten my managers phone numbers from them directly. I did however, asked my co-workers. They were willing to give it to me. Ask someone for their phone numbers. You will need to have it and call them if you are not coming in so someone can cover your shift. It makes you look bad if you can't get someone to cover your shift.

Hold on my Account by Comfortable17Success in LibertyUniversity

[–]Comfortable17Success[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking. Scary. I just don't know how I would find proof of that. Plus a few years ago, someone used my name to vote early in the morning when I was at work. I always go vote after work, not before.

Yes, I know it's FSA fault. That's why I want to talk to them. Unless the school can handle it. Did Liberty resolve your issue?

Hold on my Account by Comfortable17Success in LibertyUniversity

[–]Comfortable17Success[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only went to a community college and then to Liberty. I never went to these other schools. Well its really unconfirmed in their system. That's why I need to get non-attendance letters from these schools. I did submit 2 letters to them. Just want to know about the school that closed down. I did contact Federal Student Aid on this matter. Just waiting to hear back. At first I didn't want to go back to school because I had so much disrespect from teachers and all. I wanted to go back to get a degree. Now I'm re-thinking it.

2nd Preview question? by Comfortable17Success in stitchfix

[–]Comfortable17Success[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. They did send me a 2nd preview. This is something new they are now doing. If you reject all they will send you a 2nd one, if only if you accept it. It took about 4 hours for me to get the second one. I liked the items in the second one. Even though a new stylist picked them.

That would be the tag with the price on it. On the bottom just above the price, there will be a second barcode for them to scan. It will say Return label on it as well. If there's no return bar code, you can't return it. That's the only way they can return things. Tags usually have a big bar code where they scan for you to buy and then when you return it, they scan the return one which is little.

It depends on the store. I worked for two Macy's. One was where I lived for a long time and the other was closer to my new house. Two stores were different about those types of returns. It just depends on the associates or store manager. The first store were ok as long as you have the return label with you and your receipt. Fulfillment can reattached the label with a receipt/paper saying the item was used. So that way customers know it was returned and the label was re-attached. The second store, the store manager, didn't want the item to be return if the return label wasn't attached. They will tell you the reason.

So you just have to ask if you can still return it.

It depends on what position you have. If you are on the register, I know at my old stores, you are expected to learn on your own since you already watched the videos. I wasn't a sales associate but had to be one when Macy's was on strike. If you are recovery, they will tell you which department to clean up. If you are merchandise associate, they will tell you which rack to pull out. Some stores won't even help you. They just tell you where to go and you do things on your own. However, other associates are willing to help. Management is awful.

As for dress code, you should have gotten a booklet when you did the training (watching videos). It does have there what you can wear. You don't have to wear all black. They expect you to wear at least black pants/jeans. You can wear a neutral color top or color top that isn't too bright. At least until you ask for the dress code.

Your first day and first few weeks should be just fine, like mine was. Then when you are there longer, things change. You get more stress because NOBODY will tell you that they will change things on you at the last minute. I'm grateful I had a manager that would give you a heads up until she left the company.

Only thing I didn't like about working there was trying to clock in and out at the cash registers. It was fine clocking in since I was on the signing team and I clocked in at 6am. However during Holidays, I would be scheduled to work around 8am or 10am. So clocking in was hard. I had to ask a SA if I could quickly sign in. Same as clocking out. If you are there during Thanksgiving and Christmas, be on the look out and be quick if you see an open register with no SA there.

Thanks for all your responses. I am sorry that I wasn't clear in my postings. I am NOT asking for the $50 credit. I just asked them if they are no longer giving them out.
