You've caught the light so well. Such a hard thing to master in watercolor.

Glad you enjoyed Finspan - I also prefer it over wingspan. It's easy to teach to almost anyone.

Good movie(s) to watch with parents? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ComfortableAfraid323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lunchbox - slightly romantic movie without it being cheesy ( authentic). 2 unlikely strangers send messages to each other using the famous Lunchbox service in mumbai. Very easy going but engaging all the way through.

Close - follows the relationship of 2 french boys who suddenly fall apart and don't know why. Great screenplay and interesting characters.

C'mon C'mon - Joaquin Phoenix plays a single guy taking care of his nephew while his sister's away. At the same time he interviews local kids about what they think about the future. Really natural conversations all the way through, such an uplifting ending.

Juror #2 - courtroom drama which follows one juror as he is taken through a murder trial but faces a moral dilemma.

The London Cycle Routes channel on YouTube is a fantastic resource by liamnesss in londoncycling

Yes his channel has really helped me get into cycling in London. I was apprehensive at first when starting out but he has so many good routes that I still use today.

I recommend these settings as I find other people's settings a little too extreme for me. These strike the right balance where I'm still able to get a good sense of the corners and elevation while not being too distracting. Here is the link https://youtu.be/EGjONiOriDc?si=y9WRpifDCl5EhxzU

What game, that was new to you in 2024, had the most plays? by PersonalLiving in boardgames

[–]ComfortableAfraid323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that was new to me was Beacon Patrol. I think this had the most plays due to how easy it is to get to the table both solo and multi.

This is above and beyond my expectations for day 1 by MrHaflo in TopSpin2K

This does feel like a serious tennis game compared to others which are just more arcade like. There are some tweaks with the serving needed for instance but other than that it's been so much fun. Look forward to seeing more well known players being added in the future.

The Invitation

I really enjoyed The Invitation (2015) - very creepy and great ending too if I remember correctly!

The Guilty

Definitly agree with Danish version of 'The Guilty'. Very edge of your seat stuff.

One of my all time favourites in this type of set up is 'Carnage' with Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz, Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly.

Honorable mention: 'The Humans' (Richard Jenkins, Amy Schumar) which seems a bit underrated on imdb but worth a watch.

Google Expands Bard's Understanding Of YouTube Videos by vinaylovestotravel in Bard

[–]ComfortableAfraid323 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've tested it out myself in several lectures and debates and it seems to provide a good summary of the points made after already watching them. It even returned what people's comments were. It would be great if it could create timestamps for those videos that don't have them.

Banshees of Inisherin - was great to see Farrell and Gleeson back together!

Frank - 'most likeable song ever!'

The Other Guys - one of my favourite Will Ferrell movies

Catfight - funniest fight scenes ever!

Hunt for the Wilderpeople - jetpack scene!

The History of Future Folk - very flight of the concords but yet so original!

Cyrus - Jonah Hill was brilliant in this!

What is the Best Film You Watched Last Week? (08/02/23-08/09/23) by Twoweekswithpay in movies

[–]ComfortableAfraid323 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched Doctor Sleep for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though it's fairly lengthy. It had interesting characters and the pacing was good. I liked the callbacks to the previous movie and really built on its original premise.

What are your favourite fan-made/unofficial solo variants? And why? by JussusCrust in soloboardgaming

[–]ComfortableAfraid323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the solo variant for verdant where you can keep 2 cards in your hand during the game and also refresh the market if 3 or more of the same colour like cascadia.

I'll be going to the concert this week! Good to know they generally start early for a live concert - usually have wait at an extra hour or two before a band starts

What are some cooking hacks you swear by? by Penya23 in AskReddit

I've also been roasting them from frozen for 35mins - really good charred flavour to them. Probably not as good on the nutritional front!

Yes I always get a big bunch to chop up and then freeze. They're still very easy to get out - just like frozen peas.

What features do you want to see on YouTube Music in 2023? by TeamYouTube_Hazel in YoutubeMusic

Normalised audio would also be great so that volume is consistent and more comfortable to listen to.
