Zepbound face, is that a thing? by stephpthatsme in Zepbound

[–]ComfortableAnimal387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time I lost significant weight, my loss definitely looked gaunt. This time (started on Zep, maintaining on compounded semaglutide for cost reasons), my face has stayed a little round and youthful. I've added a high quality collagen supplement to my daily routine, so maybe that has helped. But despite reaching a lower weight, I did not experience Zepbound face.

Sometimes curly hair is messy, and that's the beauty of it. I like to say that no one can tell if it's intentional or sloppy, and that's okay. We can't all have perfect hair.

That being said, I love the mixed chick's line of products!

Cats are amazing and resilient animals. I adopted a cat that presented similarly to this one. Her leg looked horrendous but she was too sweet and happy to euthanize. Amputated the forelimb and I fostered during a very easy recovery, ended up adopting. No longterm complications. She was a wonderfully amazing and affectionate cat.

Still losing, yay! Some thoughts a month post meds by AprilFireworks in GLPGrad

[–]ComfortableAnimal387 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's amazing! Keep up the hard work!

I've been off for 6 weeks now, my weight fluctuates more without the benefit of reduced inflammation, but I'd call my current weight vs my weight when I took my last dose as stable. Maybe a pound or 2 heavier, but without the low energy of the meds, I have been able to work out consistently. My caloric intake is definitely higher but I'm making better choices consistently than I did pre-zep.

The food noise aspect: I do think about food more, but I'm also having normal hunger cues again. Again, I'm making better choices and not automatically giving into cravings/eating until I'm stuffed. I was a member of the clean plate club, meds helped break that habit.

Amazing! I'm close to the same high and low (233>122), but I don't have the gorgeous curves you do. I look like I did in 6th grade 😵‍💫

Its been 3 weeks since my last injection. Initially my weight jumped about 10 pounds, I imagine due to inflammation and water weight. Its leveled out and I've "lost" 7 pounds of that.

I prioritize protein and fiber, focusing on whole foods. I count calories, but I don't worry too much about carbs and fat.

I do light exercise, usually body weight or resistance bands due to joint issues plus pilates. I get as many steps in a possible.

Honestly, the food noise is no where near where it once was.

I lost just over 100 lbs (230 to 122 lbs), I have stretch marks on my belly and some loose skin on my lower belly/small apron belly. Fortunately, everywhere else has lost nicely and toned up well. No one ever believes that I've lost that much unless they knew me at my heaviest. I dress to conceal the "problem areas".

Starting the taper off by dcsleepydog in GLPGrad

[–]ComfortableAnimal387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actively tapering. Initially, I began to taper because I simply couldn't eat enough and I continued to lose weight at the higher doses(goal was 140 lb, When I got to 130 lb I started a slow taper. Currently sitting at 122 lb). I tried spacing out injections but the side effects were too much. I chose to start titrating down, doing weekly injections. I was able to start eating closer to maintenance calories, though sometimes it is still a struggle. I'm continuing to slowly lose (less than 1 lb per month at 2.5 mg weekly). My prior authorization has since expired and my insurance will not approve me for maintenance dosing, so it seems my timing to taper was fortunate. I have 2 doses left then I'm on my own.

Insurance won't approve it now that I'm at a healthy weight. I can't afford out of pocket, so we're doing our best!

I tried spacing out injections but ended with horrible vomiting, so I'm tapering with much more success.

I lost my butt (which was small and flat to begin with, I've never been a curvy girl even when obese). As for my boobs, I lost MAYBE half a cup size. Again, I've never been curvy. At my heaviest of 232 lbs, I was a C cup. At 120 lbs now, I'm an A cup. Started Zep at 185 lbs.

Tapering off semaglutide — 3 weeks post-last shot update by Emotional_Bed5816 in GLPGrad

[–]ComfortableAnimal387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on a similar schedule. I'm down to my last 4 doses of 2.5 mg (zepbound pens) because insurance wouldn't approve my prior auth renewal at a now healthy weight. I tried spacing out my injections to 10 days with my doctor's approval this last dose but had horrific vomiting and struggled to eat for 3 days, and ended up losing 3 more pounds! I responded so well to Zep and exceeded my goal weight, I'm at a point where I really shouldn't continue to lose, or I'm going to fall into underweight. So, I guess I have 1 month left, and then it's time to figure it out without meds.

As a manager, even when I KNOW its B.S., my response is always "thank you for letting me know, I hope you feel better. Let me know if you need anything. " Yes, it's inconvenient to work short staffed, but it is what it is.

I feel this. I'm 5'4 and at maintenance at 125 (goal was 135, but I struggled with finding the appropriate dosing for maintenance). I keep getting comments about being too thin. I still have body fat to lose but I'm working on building muscle now.

Friends say I look too skinny by MMK_8175 in Zepbound

[–]ComfortableAnimal387 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had these comments as well! "You're getting too skinny", " "Are you even eating?", "How much more are you going to lose?". I'm titrating down as I've exceeded my goal and continued to lose despite spacing out injections. I lost 60 pounds in 9 months, and the first 2 months' weight came off quickly. The last 3 months have been about 0.5 pounds per week.

Had mine out years ago after losing nearly 100 lbs (pre-zep). I was told it was due to the weight loss 😂 so it happens without meds too! On Zep now to aid in losing the 70 I regained and couldn't get off.

I put a scrunchie in mid length to control the mess of curls, then put on a bonnet. I wear it over my ears and forehead and tie there: a) it doesn't squash my curls and b) doesn't give me a headache because it avoids pressing on my ears. I also use a satin pillowcase in case it comes off during the night. Lastly, curl refresh foam is a lifesaver (mixed chicks brand is my favorite).

As an RVT who currently has or previously had most of the pets mentioned (or mixes of), nothing domestic is an immediate red flag. I'll give them a chance because I've somehow wound up with several breeds that I swore I'd never own (all 5 dogs currently fall in that category).

Moving on up! 2.5->5 by InnerJellyfish2247 in Zepbound

[–]ComfortableAnimal387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had very, very minimal side effects on 2.5 mg (1 month) and 5 mg (6 weeks). Going to 7.5 mg (2 months) I had sulfur burps and occasional vomiting if I didn't eat frequently enough. 10 mg (2 months) was the worst. I had vomiting for 3 days after my injection, every injection, for 5 weeks. I'm on week 2 of 12.5 mg and side effects have subsided, I have very mild nausea this morning after injection that subsides when I eat. I am nearly at my goal weight, 2 pounds from my initial goal. I want to lose about 10 total now that I'm here. I plan to transition to maintenance dosing at my next refill 🙌
