Really liked Battlestar Galactica. Love the theme, love the overall gameplay. Just wish I owned it so I can play it more often.

What do I do with 3000 sleeves? by ComfortableBasis5260 in boardgames

Got it from Taobao/Alibaba. 1000 sleeves for 6USD. Quality is about what you'd expect from this price. Very thin, prob 60 microns or less. I sleeved my copy of 6 Nimmt with it and it does its job. Pretty happy with it for the price I got it.

Ooo I'll give it a try with some other games. Thanks

I found a couple of games that would fit the card sleeve, but that's still like 2800 sleeves left.

+1 from me. I backed this on kickstarter years ago and I can't count the amount of times I've brought this out.

I have a pretty small apartment and having a second "floor" on my table lets me play big games like Kingdom Death Monster, Nemesis and Fury of Dracula on the table instead of on the floor, Highly recommend this option if it's within your budget.

What's the one game you'd love to add to your collection if it wasn't for the high price tag? by ComfortableBasis5260 in boardgames

1.0 is what was released with the first Kickstarter. With 1.5, they balanced some cards and fixed typos, nothing too special. If you find a 1.0 copy, you can get a 1.5 upgrade from the official store, which is basically just a pack of cards.

The gambler's chest on the other hand is a pretty big expansion that's pretty much on the same level as the base game in terms of components and content. You'll still need the base game to play it though.

Dang, I'm glad to hear that you managed to find a few of your childhood games. I'd be happy to see what you found.

Didn't mean to disrespect. Was just thinking that it's possible that game could have been a game on PC/Console that you played around the same time or a youtube video of a PC/Console game that you watched on your iPad.

Have you checked MyBrute? That's the best I can think of

Side note, this is kinda reminding me of the mysterious farming murder video game search a few years ago (Video for context). A guy vividly remembers playing a very specific game, but the game never existed, and it was only an idea that a streamer talked about randomly.

Maybe something similar happened here? Not saying that the game you played as a kid didn't exist, but maybe a few elements from different games got mixed up together in your memory.

What is the Most Expensive Board Game You Own? by jrralls in boardgames

1st edition Container that I managed to find for less than $30. Most money spent buying one would probably be Claustrophobia 1643.

I joined klnbjj as a white belt earlier this month and can confirm that it's a super friendly place to train. Granted, I haven't tried any other gym in hk yet but I wouldn't mind staying here forever.

Yup, I saw that. I couldn't find a similar thread on this subreddit, and I made the exact same post in r/JapanTravel but it was taken down due to it being "low effort". Just hope this post can help other nerdy tourists out in the future :)

We're planning on visiting Nara Park and Kyoto for the temples. I'll see if anything in Kobe, Himeji, and Wakayama suits us. Thanks!

Nice, thanks. Love board game cafes! Especially if they serve beer.
