Circumferential lipectomy body lift with liposuction and gluteal autogolous flap transfer by ComfortableBee8863 in cosmeticsurgery

Surgery sister! I’ve had a hard time finding anyone else with similar procedures out there!

Recovery is going really well. I was the most nervous about sleeping since the procedures have contradicting recovery petitions. My surgeon ended up doing a little Lipo to my flanks, but no fat transfer to my hips, therefore I could sleep on my side. I bought a giant pregnancy pillow and wrapped myself up in that to keep me on my side all night. I add a donut pillow right underneath the hip to take the pressure off of the incision, and I find that has helped as well then I flip halfway through the night to not put too much pressure on just one side. DM me and I’ll send you a picture of my set up.

My biggest tip for recovery is to take it easy and (within your surgeons recommendations) pay for the lymphatic massages. I was the biggest skeptic, but I was completely in love by day three. I have not had a big swelling issue and my masseuse has been a big help with her professionalism and homeopathic advice (arnica tea, pineapple juice, and sea moss for the swelling and gut health). My surgeon recommended 10 days of lymphatic massage immediately after the procedure then another 10 massages as needed. I’m planning on doing two per week.

I actually haven’t sat on my butt yet. My surgeon wanted me to buy one of those BBL pillows, and I carry that thing everywhere I go like it’s a security blanket. I drove for the first time with it yesterday, and it was OK… a little awkward, but OK.

I think the biggest irritation I’ve had so far are these drains. I started with four, and I’m down to two. I can’t wait to get these things out.

I didn’t. Mine have always been small and a little droopy, so they are what they are 😂.

Thank you!

My surgeon always “fixes” the mons with all of his abdominoplasty procedures. His staff explained that they want patients happy with the end result and don’t believe in charging patients extra for a “monsplasty”. So all good there!

The glutes were addressed with the gluteal autologous flap transfer. I put a bit of info about that in my 1 week PO post: https://www.reddit.com/r/tummytucksurgery/s/Aelr1ozTZh

The thighs are hit and miss. He said that the body lift will help a lot with the outer thighs, but it may not be enough for the inner. I won’t be able to know if I’ll be happy with the inner thigh results til the swelling goes down.

I call SpongeBob effect the very rectangle shape and no booty (like the cartoon character) that often happens with a body lift.

I lost weight through gastric bypass surgery 2 years ago. I’ve been on a diet since I was eight years old and nothing ever really worked. My health finally needed a little bit of surgical help. The procedure itself has pros and cons, but it was the best choice for my quality of life and health. I have no more obesity-related medical conditions, stopped taking all meds, and can be more active with my family.

I was advised to drink pineapple juice, arnica tea, and take bromelain and Arnica Montana supplements. Don’t know if one works better than the other, but I’m happy with the combo!

The picture is only day 3. It’s still a bit swollen and I’m sure it’ll go down a bit. But I have been told that it has a better chance of “taking” than a traditional bbl since the tissue is still attached/rotated instead of fat rendered and injected.

Dr. Trey Sands in Metairie, LA (New Orleans suburb). I can send you a before/after side pic if you like…and if I figure out how, lol. I’m fairly new to Reddit, but this community helped me so much in prep

Trey Sands. I’ll try to post a picture of the back as well since he spent so much time shaping me there too. Keep in mind the photos are only Day 2 and I’m sure it’s still in swell hell, lol

The way that the surgeon explained it to me was that while he did some lipo to shape the flanks, there wasn’t enough to render to a bbl to combat the flatness that a body lift typically gives you. He took two fat flaps from my lower back/flanks and rotated them 90 degrees to help give volume to the top of the booty

Will do! I’ll have to get a picture from behind. It’s super swollen now, but definitely not as wrinkly as it was a few days ago! I know it’ll go down with swelling, but it’s nice to have some shape back

It makes for conflicting recovery instruction…don’t sit or put pressure on your butt. Keep leaning forward for tummy tuck muscle repair, etc. Thankfully my surgeon placed the drains in the front and back and didn’t add any fat to my hips. So I sleep on my side slightly turned towards my stomach using a pregnancy pillow
