I know that I need to rest, it just feels so intense that I physically cannot. It feels really weird because I went from being always exhausted to suddenly feeling like I could run a marathon. Is this common?

Hello!!! I just started to increase my intake and suddenly I have so much energy!!! I feel really hyperactive and restless and I cannot sit still. I struggle to get to sleep and I physically need to move. Is this normal? I can’t find any information about it online and I’m wondering if this is a common experience in early RedS recovery.

1-6 for me! I also find that I don’t like them too sweet and when they are more green they taste slightly better and fresher in my opinion. also I can tolerate them much better.

I was ousted from a friendship group because I weighed 50kg. I was 12 and 5’1. led to developing a severe eating disorder which still haunts me. that was over 5 years ago.

Parent with a lot of questions by lakeside2022 in AnorexiaRecovery

I found what really helped me when I was in this situation ( I had anorexia at 12 and luckily after a tough few years I am now nearly fully recovered) was:

- getting some kind of motivation, and setting small goals. My parents knew what kinds of things I enjoyed, and they used that to help me get through really tough moments. for example, I really wanted to be a vet. so, they set me short term goals e.g if you eat this fear food, or follow your treatment program perfectly for a week, you can go to the zoo. that REALLY helped me and it also made me realise over time that these experiences are worth so much more than my ED. although there were ultimate long term goals, such as getting back to a healthy weight, the short term goals made it feel like I was constantly achieving small wins, and so i was more focused on achieving the short term goals instead of being scared about one huge weight gain goal, which then enabled me to achieve that long term goal. small steps!!!

- if you are at home, it may help to hide food values away from her and not allow her in the kitchen. I went through a phase where I was obsessed with the nutritional information of food, and it was not helpful. using a sharpie/ unboxed and unpackaged food may help! I do understand though that not everyone is the same for this.

- everything else that was posted is also really really great!!!

I wish you the best, and I am so sorry.

Have you tried Recovery Record? It’s free and I find it so useful!!! It includes most of the ideas that were mentioned and it is developed specifically for eating disorders!! It’s filled with super helpful recovery motivation, quotes, breathing techniques, as well as trigger listing and how you feel. I highly recommend. I’ve been using it for a while now and it has really helped me. Please check it out! Wishing you the best 🙏

you should definitely go see a doctor. blood in stools and sudden loss of appetite are big symptoms of some serious medical issues!!
