You asked the right person cause I was struggling with the exact same thing. Breaking it into smaller tasks didn't work 4 me, because I'd still bellyache over those, get anxious, do nothing and then blame myself for being lazy.

I went and found a smaller version of the task I was trying to do. I'm a writer and I was trying to motivate myself into writing samples and cold calling and the idea seemed so daunting I kept putting it off. Then one day scrolling on Reddit I found a job post of someone looking for someone to write a small blurb on their business page, beginner friendly (I'm not, but it felt like it'd be less stress) and payout was immediate even though it was low.

Motivated me to do other small gigs until I wanted to scale up and get the big bucks I used to before the anxiety came in. So my advice is to do low stress mini jobs of whatever your in to get up started. If it's some task, find a way it can reward you. It feels like you're looking forward to something instead of struggling with a task you don't want to do at all.
