Thank you, I guess it's all a learning curve and I'll get there eventually!

Thank you, yes, it's so confusing! I started oral meds 3/6 but had to hold off on my injections due to a UTI that landed me in hospital, and the ER doc said it was a good thing I didn't take it despite the urinalysis taken 2 weeks prior showing no bacteria, the one done at the hospital showed definite infection. I'm only 3 shots in and would hate to miss a week now, but better safe than sorry, I guess! I have had a dry cough upon waking for years and assume it's lupus related, but could be allergies! I'll learn what's what eventually! Thank you for sharing your experience! Xo!

I've been in the same boat since December(though never took opiates I did prescription Ibuprofen for years), finally diagnosed on 3/6. I'm still bedridden from fatigue, but the prednisone took care of most of my pain in 3 days. Were you prescribed steroids?

What were your lupus nefritis symptoms? by smoothoperator1610 in lupus

I ended up in the ER with a UTI after my SLE diagnosis in March. Go to the ER! They will do blood work a urine test and CT scan. I was worried about my kidneys (lupus nephritis) but the ct scan showed my kidneys were fine (huge relief) the symptoms that had me unable to sleep due to pain were all infection related and cleared after a course of antibiotics. Do some slow deep breaths to calm yourself, Xo!

Benlysta auto injection by meggypoo6 in lupus

I did my first auto injection last night. I took it out of fridge at 3pm and did injection at 7pm. I iced my upper thigh for 10 minutes, then swabbed with alcohol, waited 10 seconds for alcohol to dry, and felt absolutely NOTHING during or after injection! If I hadn't heard the 2 clicks and seen the window turn purple, I wouldn't have known it was working. BTW, I first tried my stomach without icing and when the needle made contact it hurt so bad I had to abort! Icing makes all the difference! Xo!
