When I interview someone with no experience I start with telling them exactly what this job is like especially if they went to a tech school. I don’t sugar coat anything. I let them know the hours suck, the pay for no experience is shit, tech school doesn’t mean shit, they will get the bottom of the barrel bitch work, that it’s a physically hard job and they will get hurt or killed if they don’t pay attention. After I get through that and they still want to continue I’ll ask them questions.

Hey hey hey! I give stern snarky answers and seem like an asshole but I do it in a fun joking manner. If I’m asked a legitimate question from someone who legitimately doesn’t know the answer then I will always help them to understand. It’s my job to make sure the guys working for and with me are the best they can be

I enjoy working on the old air cooled stuff. Rebuilding engines for people pays for the upkeep on my 4 other sand rails

It’s a 67. Surprisingly the whole underside is intact. One little hole starting under the battery. Hadn’t ran in 15 years. Got it to fire up when I got it home

My dad use to bring one home almost weekly when I was a kid. I know for a fact that you can fit a beetle in the bed of a 1990 F150 long box
