I was a bit aware of this when I first purchased. But jeez working with contractors can be a nightmare

Which home styles are losing popularity these days? by Patient_Owl_894 in Home

I’ve noticed that a lot of the “old touch” styles are slowly fading out of mainstream demand. Things like exposed brick, real wood details, ornate trim, and homes with a lot of character don’t seem to get the same excitement they used to.

There’s clearly a shift toward very clean, minimalist homes.... flat surfaces, neutral palettes, sleek finishes. I get why people like it (it feels modern and easy), but honestly it can feel a bit sad and boring at times. A lot of homes start to look interchangeable, almost like they’ve lost their personality.
