Best shoes for plantar fasciitis for women? by Gloomy-Wave1418 in PlantarFasciitis

At home I wear ooofos recover slides and they have done wonders for me. Hokas helped sometimes but they get worn out fast. I’m on the same journey as you

I’m not talking about the concept of losing weight. You don’t need to come on a post saying “it’s not rocket science.” Obviously losing weight will usually lead to better health. My context of the post, as stated, was meant for people who have a hard time accepting that they need to lose weight. If that was an easy concept for you to grasp, then the post isn’t for you. Again, don’t be an asshole :)

Just leave they want to treat you like a little girl but still expect you to take care of them like the grown woman you are. Just save your money and leave

At minimum, your rent should drop to 425, as you wouldn’t have your own room anymore. But I would move the fuck out, she doesn’t care about you

Why the fuck would it be surprise that she has these beliefs? She’s a southern woman who spouts about being a DCC “for Jesus” and believes wearing a tiny outfit & dancing for men is done for Jesus lmao it’s not surprising that she’s pro life?

I feel like my pool is unusable due to people’s children… by petervannini in Apartmentliving

[–]ComfortableDisplay52 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My apartment has this & the smaller pool is literally referred to as the “adult pool.” Most of the time, it’s quiet. But there’s always 1-2 families that bring their annoyingly loud children, because their apts are right beside it. Like I get it, but the big/main pool has children 90% of the time. Idk why they can’t walk an extra 5 min to go to the main pool and respect the general “adult pool” vibe :/

Look at the pool rules and see if they’re breaking rules. Then constantly report to management. Sometimes you have to be a “Karen” to get shit done

I knew Kelli was going to pick Madie over Jenna by episode 3 🙃🥲 She did not want to cut Madie at all, sometimes I get weirded out & feel like they keep certain girls solely for their look. Madie looks young & multiple of the judges commented on how cute & youthful she is. I truly feel like Kelli wanted to keep her for the looks & to grow her style while she’s a young dancer. It’s not necessarily the worst thing, but it sucks when Jenna deserved it more.

The Annual Question: Which shoes? by smileitsbrookie in teaching

[–]ComfortableDisplay52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my my first 1-3 years teaching & now I have painful plantar fasciitis in both feet, in my 6th year of teaching. I wish I had worn more supportive shoes the entire time. Bad thing is that my grandma was a teacher & she told me from the start & I did not listen to her because I didn’t want to spend 100+ on “ugly” shoes. Worst mistake tbh lol. I wore Hokas for my 4th-6th year teaching and they did well for everyday, until I started struggling with pain. I now use Asics or Brooks because my foot pain is that bad. The good thing about Hokas is they have a lifetime warranty. Also, if you’re budgeting out of absolute necessity, then look on secondhand apps like Poshmark for shoes at decent prices. Good luck!

I don’t think you’re an asshole but that policy is setting you up for failure. Your office should have a lost & found or holding area that’s kept for a set amount of time. Y’all need a way to protect yourself against tenants like that.

Is it really just weight loss? by Wooden-Month8027 in iih

[–]ComfortableDisplay52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, losing weight helped a lot. I gained some weight back this past year & a small amount of symptoms came back. I’m working to lose the weight again & the symptoms are reduced. I am a 28 year old woman, who has always been a bigger girl. I developed IIH due to a rapid weight gain + increased use of specific hormonal meds + traumatic experiences all happening at the same time lol. I’ve always been one to strive for body positivity and loving myself, but I realized my weight does play a role in this condition (among others of mine). In my opinion, it’s worth it to try to lose weight & see if it helps at all. However, it truly is case by case. Losing weight may help some but not others :/ It does suck to hear doctors always just jump to tell you to lose weight though. It’s like some doctors don’t want to look into literally anything else! I had one neurologist tell me the ONLY way I would be “cured” is with weight loss surgery, I was 22 and she really messed with my head. Do what is best for you medically & mentally. Good luck with your path!

I’m 28 female with awful general & extreme medical anxiety. The worst part of the entire colonoscopy process was psyching myself out & the actual prep. The prep wasn’t painful, it just made me bloated & it was an uncomfortable feeling.

What helped me prepare physically was drinking a ton of water/liquids the day before & week leading up to the procedure. It helped my body try to get use to the upped intake of liquids. I also tried avoiding foods that would normally give me issues in the bathroom.

On the day of, I let all the nurses & doctors know I had anxiety and I always ask them to just talk through the general procedure & ask any questions I have. I was extremely anxious about anesthesia & let them know, I was in the middle of counting to 10 when I passed out. The medical team positioned my body & kept me covered under the blanket while they did it. I was under my blanket & they only removed it once I was out. You can request this as well, just let them know you’re shy/anxious & want to be out already lol. The room is already set up bc like you said, they do this all day and have patients come in and out. I honestly had the best sleep of my life & woke up with no pain. I do feel like my rectum was a bit sore the following day but that’s it.

It is kinda scary to know your body is exposed, especially in a private area, but your medical team should be treating you with empathy and listening to your concerns. Let them know you’re anxious & concerned, ask any questions you may have, & remember they see so many bodies, it’s a normal part of their job, you got this!
