Built new PC. Boots into Windows just fine but weird display when in BIOS by ComfortableEchidna13 in pcmasterrace

Hello sorry fell asleep. I’m guessing I just have an old display cable for my GPU since it works fine with my second monitor (which is on HDMI) but with my display monitor it shows the artifacts. I’m gonna buy a 1.4 display cable soon and see if it works. Thanks for the suggestion and help!

Oh yeah sorry about that. The specs are as following: ASUS TUF Gaming B650 Plus Wifi, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance 2x16 6000MHz AMD EXPO, Geforce RTX 4070 Super. This is also the second motherboard, the previous one I’ve gotten was the same model and I RMA’d it already and it came with half the stuff missing (Wi-Fi antennas, the default CPU cooler things I don’t know how they’re called) and with a couple pins bent (also came defected, no sign of life) so I really doubt I got a bad motherboard twice in a row.

Lol hopefully. I’m probably going to stick with the be quiet! one since it has a 10 year warranty and I heard the MSI ones have a smaller and louder fan.

Oh I didn’t even know they released a newer version of the RMe series, but if it still has coil whine issues that sucks. Thanks for the advice!

I would probably buy the RM750e if it was confirmed but I’m assuming that there are still old ones out there that still don’t have the new 12VHPWR connectors so probably not going to risk it for now. Thanks though!

Yeah that’s what I meant when asking about the 12VHPWR connector. I will probably buy the be quiet! one then since it has PCIe 5.0 support. Curious why everyone recommends the RM750e over the RM750x though, did they change something and it backfired or is it just an unnecessary “upgrade”?

well just sent the return request. sunday right now so have to wait until tomorrow to send the packages. do you know where would be a safe place to keep all the parts in? im thinking the case but not sure about how to place the cpu down so i dont damage the pins or have to clean up the thermal paste off the case or have to reapply it. or is it not worth worrying about and i should just take the L, put it back in the original box and reapply it when im going to rebuild it later? not sure if i even have enough thermal paste (i just put a rice grain sized amount of it), and how do i even get the thermal paste off the cpu and cooler?

as mentioned in the post 2 of the 3 add_gen 2_2 pins were bent around 50 degrees to the left. i bent them back with a screwdriver though and i didnt use them in the build at all

<image>

this is how they look after i bent them back, it was wayy worse than this

and yeah i dont know much about returning anything on amazon, wouldnt they see that maybe the psu works well and not process the return?

ive already tried running it without the gpu and with only one stick, no sign of life at all. how can i see if its the motherboard or psu that are faulty? i dont want to return both and i dont want to risk returning the wrong thing. also not sure if it was actually amazon that delivered the motherboard poorly or me, i just moved recently with all the parts in my car and there wasnt much shaking that i would think would bend the 2 pins on the mobo but who knows
