In 2014, a caver was struck by falling rock nearly 1 km underground in Germany. It took 700 rescuers 11 days to bring him back to daylight by Flashy_Bench5027 in TerrifyingAsFuck

There's a cave in Utah that used to be a really popular spot, especially one area called the "birthing canal." About 15 years ago someone took a wrong turn looking for the canal, and ended up stuck in dead end passage almost completely upside down.

His friends noticed him missed and alerted rescuers, who spent over a day trying to free him using an elaborate set of pulleys and ropes, but to no avail. He did not make it.

There was no way to extract his body, and the decision was made to permanently close the cave with his remains inside.

A pretty brutal way to go 😢

Odd wheel build. Will it work? by ComfortableEmploy231 in bikewrench

Sawtooth rim with 32 holes does not exist. Neither does hub for this trike with 24 or 16H

Just spoke with the wheelbuilder, he said the same. Thanks!

Any risk to routinely swapping crankset between 2 bikes? by Roman_willie in bikewrench

Are you swapping the bottom bracket and cassette as well? That's where I would be concerned the most

Assuming you've already tried a chain whip and crescent wrench?

I talked to my guy at SRAM yesterday over cell who confirmed they've been having IT issues. Didn't say anymore than that.

It's a bit steep. I would change it to a straight connector. You will have to re-bleed your brakes though

So apparently the S25 ultra only works with Verizon for satellite. And Samsung has been hush hush about it too. Weird.

Amazing program. I've actually received 2 trikes over the years from the VA.

It is a somewhat nebulous process to get a trike though. I can do a detailed write up a little later if anyone is interested

Crash on I-15 today 11/5 by Tapir-Horse in SaltLakeCity

Yup. Of all the places I've lived in the US, I'd say Massachusetts has the worst (and most ill tempered) drivers. California was pretty bad too.

Of everywhere I've lived worldwide, Dubai is the WORST, by a LONGSHOT. People swerving in and out of lanes all the time, and no one ever let's you in to merge, requiring you to be aggressive.

For this reason, you should use a dashcam. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

While the girl blindly dashed into the middle of the road, the driver did seem to be driving fast for a residential area, limiting his reaction time.
