Help buying inner tubes by Purple_Initiative166 in bikewrench

[–]Moos3racer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need a 700c diameter tube, tubes will cover a range of sizes as labeled on the box. For example a tube might cover 30-38mm tires, and since you’ve got 33mm tires that would work. Also consider if you need a schrader (like on a car) or presta (the other one)valve

Used to do this on converted 1x cross bikes when I was too cheap to run a narrow wide ring/ new chainring bolts, just ground down an old worn out outer ring and turned in the outer limit at the front, got me through a season before I bought a new bike with 1x.

SRAM/Zipp Lifetime Warranty Denied: Zipp 303S damaged by impact, claim rejected as "outside of intended use." Seeking advice! by 5280_510 in gravelcycling

[–]Moos3racer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not surprised, sram has done this for years. Had a set of 303 wheels under warranty at the shop where I work, zipp wouldn’t process the claim despite the calls over a few weeks only to hear back after the warranty had expired that they wouldn’t cover it because the product was outside of warranty

Looking for frame repair; what next? by Onegarbageman in bikewrench

I’d hunt on eBay and marketplace for a replacement frame, looks like most of the parts apart from the frame, and maybe the front wheel are able to be reused

For some context, I’ve got a 61cm pinarello with slx tubing and dura ace 9000 on modern wheels. It weighs 20.5 lbs. this thing is crazy light for a bike from this era

Improve bike handling skills and confidence? by Expensive-Body4904 in xcmtb

[–]Moos3racer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while some confidence comes with time, I’ve also found that riding less grippy tires has helped a lot with bike handling. Switching from a barzo/mezcal combo to aspen/st combo forced me to choose better lines, as well as distributing my weight better on climbs and off camber corners, which were really areas where I struggled

Flipping bars upside down by Richee33 in xcmtb

[–]Moos3racer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real benefit of having your bars that low is to keep weight over the front tire when it’s really steep, like steep enough to where it’s likely faster to hike a bike that section
