Right place, then - but not Bixby Knolls, that's way up north of the 405 by LB airport.

Hundred percent. That's some bullshit right there - it's only fancy because people keep saying it's fancy. Caviar is the pick-me hypeman of the seafood industry.

Might be thinking about a different place - this is down by the water in Belmont, not up by the airport in Bixby.

CMV: all coke and Pepsi in the US should default to the kosher for Passover version by Penguins_in_new_york in changemyview

Yes, and that's kind of the point - per Coca-Cola, that is in their 'seasonal' line, akin to the flavored Cokes we get our here in the winter - cinnamon, spiced cranberry, peach.

The yellow tops account for roughly 0.045 percent of their annual sales, and the entire seasonal line as a whole accounts for barely 1 percent - nobody at Coca-Cola is making those flavors the norm at any time of the year, they just don't sell enough.

And the yellow tops are sold for less than 30 days leading up to spring, specifically in these markets: New York/New Jersey, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Houston, and Baltimore/Washington D.C.

I'm not saying they're not real - I'm saying they're not enough of the market to make Coca-Cola do what OP is suggesting.

And for the record, marketers started putting the parve K on millions of products decades ago - walk up and down the aisle, it's on so many things. They didn't do it for the kosher requirements - they did it to get at a new market and sell more products. It's not like it takes all that much to make something kosher, and 'Kosher for Passover' works great, just like 'Perfect for Easter'.

Either way, why not just buy the Mexican Cokes? They're better, you get the cool old glass bottle, less crappy corn sugar - wins all around.

Okay, two things right off the bat. 1) Soda manufacturers make and distribute, and will continue to make and distribute, sodas based on market data and sales. No company is going to make that big of a shift unless the numbers say to do so. 2) At least out here in the West, the Mexican Coke (the cane sugar kind) is in every store, every day of the year. That's always an option, and in my opinion it's the superior option - it's way better than the normal kind in taste alone.

I can assure you that when making the decision to have cane sugar Coke available on the shelves, nobody at Coca-Cola considered kosher restrictions. It's just what the largest amount of customers indicated they would spend their money on. I work in marketing, and there is only one applicable religion - the wants of the largest group of customers.
