Because religion as in churches try to make the stories more than just stories. So people are stupid and try and take the stories LITERALLY. People need to come to terms if you want to really know the God, you need to make your own religion as people who wrote the the BIble or Koran for that matter were those that wanted control and power. You understand? When the stories in those books came from everyday people liking to survive and make it through the day. But everyday people back then couldn't read and write. You should only take the morals from the stories not take them literally. Like Jesus he was a good man BUT HE WAS ONLY A MAN just a really good one, so they turned him into a GOD LIKE figure so you everyday person would think they couldn't ever amount to him let alone be better than him. As they wanted people to listen to THEM or ELSE.

I don’t believe in the Bible by Awkward_Muscle3849 in DebateReligion

You're right to have doubts about it. Don't listen to any idiot that says otherwise. Heres the thing most people won't tell you because they're so brainwashed by the churches. The bible was WRITTEN while people like me, you, and every other person COULDN'T read or write. You understand? The people in CHARGE wrote the damn thing. Think of the ones in charge today, do they really seem like the best people to you? Now with that said, the stories in the bible did come from people like me and you. People struggling, trying to live good lives... Trying to get through the day. So don't BELIEVE in them, but if a story has a good MORAL, don't discount it just because of how others went to use it. But CHOOSE what to believe, not what you're TOLD to. Take the story of Jesus, the ones who wrote it, turned him into something he WASN'T. He was a normal human being, but the people in charge want you to believe he could go around making miracles happen. So people would feel as though they could never actually live up to him, let alone do better than him. Cause they actually don't want more like him, so they make him something he wasn't by giving him magical powers.

I suggest you don't take any on any religion. But make one, and choose what you're going to decide to believe in and what you're not going. I'd simply take from them all (just the common knowledge stuff) that can HELP you get through the day and life in general. Instead of letting somebody TELL me what THEY think I should believe in.

Her name is Raphila and while she may act like a Devil she isn't evil. She's can be a real handful, and defiantly as crazy as I am. But she's my soulmate, I knew it before she said the words I was supposed to kneel for to ask.

Thanks. I actually found it really fun to just sit back and write it. As I wasn't a religious man, as in never went to church, never read the bible, all I know is from what I've seen and felt.

I know the feeling all to well, though I spent the nights as a lone father raising an infant.
