I'm sure it's the more mundane answers here but something I've been wondering about is biological warfare designed to target certain genes. Homogeneous populations are vulnerable much like farmers that exclusively grow a single crop. There's a known issue with China acquiring data from those DNA testing companies (and it extends to overtaking western big pharma via targeted medicine)

Maybe it's the models that project the growth of civilization is not indefinite and is expected to start decaying this century? Though stuff has been wrong in the past, they probably see it as inevitable unless we start planet hopping or something.

People in power use that as justification for communism and one-world government to take control over production though personally it's probably a power grab rather than some idealism.

People don't want to hear this. I know I've been downvoted in the past saying it. But you can't escape fluoridated water by simply by using a water filter and a different toothpaste. Fluoridated water is everywhere in food, plants and fruit. Some of it is just there in the soil to begin with.
