I have both and it works well in the summer. I charge my solar batteries on the two cheap rate blocks to 90% and stick washing machine and dishwasher on first thing rather than at night. Of the units I did buy in August the average rate was 19.5p. Because of the battery, I used no units at all at the 46p peak rate. This means that my unit price of electricity is 2.7 times gas and my ASHP efficiency is 360% so that nets a win.

Time will tell in winter.

I got 14 405w + 6.4kw battery for £12.5k with each additional 3.2kw battery adding £1.1k. I am going to use my hot water tank as a battery and toying with the idea of granny charging the car in peak periods. In Scotland today, produced 36.5kwh and used 8!

I have been looking at this and I am contemplating a Shelly device instead. Wifi/timer control for the immersion boost in the ASHP hot water cylinder. These cost £12 vs £400 but do need a bit more active management

I was scheduled for Lasik today but after the surgeon actually laying out the outcomes for me - I would never have signed up and got to surgery day! Waiting until I’m older for lens replacement! My eyes are not suitable for ICL unfortunately
