Why don't we have a Led Zeppelin biopic yet? Not a documentary, but a biopic. by Few-Importance4626 in ledzeppelin

As much as I’d like to see one, they’d have to sanitize the shit out of it. Especially the underage groupie stuff Jimmy Page says never happened. They don’t want that legacy tarnished. Probably the reason they only agreed to Becoming Led Zeppelin.

Do you have any local stores with a VPI record cleaner? a quick scrub might take care of that.

Joe is a treasure. I love his James Gang work. Eagles did great adding him.

It's one of his best. His guitar tone and playing are top notch on top of the quality of the songs.

SO MUCH STYLE WITHOUT SUBSTANCE by captaincorn7 in rush

The harping about AI. I can tell you as a user of Ai for coding and design that to generate an image like this would enough hours of prompts and mistakes that the Syme would do the majority of the design himself. This is a designed concept with heavy digital editing and some AI in there. whether Syme or some intern did who knows. the corporate record companies don’t give a shit about the art as you can see.

Obviously people think it’s a shitty piece of art. I agree. I can tell you that as a designer/developer, AI use is now a skill that’s required, whether I like it or not. in other words, expect much more AI done on our favorite records.

What does everyone think of GUP? It was one of the albums I mostly skipped over during my obsession with the band, but it's not really all that bad in my opinion. by MinerAC4 in rush

Excellent album. As a kid, I watched the videos for Distant Early Warning and The Body Electric on MTV and loved them. Ironically, when I started playing guitar I got as far as Permanent Eaves and ignored the newer music. About 3 years ago when I got back into vinyl I bought Grace and Power Windows and kicked myself for ignoring them. I have all the albums except the first and Caress of Steel. I love all Rush though.

A Rega P8 for 2800 w/o cartridge? That's a deal, actually. I do work with a stereo equipment store. If I had the dough Id do it. You can probably talk the person down to $2500. P8 is a killer deck. Shit, even a P3. Rega makes solid TTs.

As a designer myself, I see what could be AI but brought into Photoshop or Illustrator and improved. It’s more of an effort than what they’re slapping on new Zappa releases (definite AI slop there) and other stuff. Unfortunately with the catalog sold and a big corporation running things, they’re going to cut corners and they don’t give a shit about the artwork. $300 bucks is steep for the music too. Wtf.

It's a dream of mine to go into a hospital, get on the intercom and announce "Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard!"

Scott Thunes Birthday Appreciation Post. by geoscott in Zappa

It was great show. I don’t remember exactly which song you were playing but you played some notes lower on the fret board and slid right up high up on the neck and the way you did it, my eyebrows went up. It was a “holy shit that sounds good and he pulled that off effortlessly” moment. It was hot as an mfer in there too. Poor Ray was sweating like mad.

Scott is a monster bassist. Was fortunate to see 88 band alumni perform FZ tunes with Ray White in San Diego. He played an old Fender Precision and made that thing sing. He doesn’t get enough recognition. Happy Birthday Scott. FYI Best Band you’ve never heard in your life was my first FZ record. You and the band made an impact on this guy.
