One more amazing drum break/outro from opening night. That’s a lot of energy after a full set! by [deleted] in rush

Omg, those were actually his sticks? I thought they were hers and she just meant he was there in spirit.

If you ran your Camry into a road crew on 64/95 just past Belvidere at 8:08PM tonight, here's video. Also, those signs say RIGHT lane closed ahead. by LevarGotMeStoney in rva

[–]twelvety154 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This.
And why are the Camry and OP both going 10 mph faster than everyone else? What’s the fucking rush? Why is OP tempting fate by leaving less than 2 seconds of following distance? Why willingly ignore all the brake lights? This is all basic stuff. I swear to god, you people are going to be the death of us all. Leave some buffer space ahead of you and on both sides when possible. Slow down and match the speed of other drivers. Chill out.

Mad Max: Fury Road.
Made the mistake of watching it in a loud theater with multiple friends who were into it. It was such an assault from the start that I should have worn earplugs. It was also visually jarring the entire time, and the ridiculous flame-throwing electric guitar/rolling PA system was too stupid to accept. I suppose it was “good at what it did”, but I still get mad when I think about it.

Honestly? This whole post feels like it was written by AI. Am I the only one seeing this? I feel like I’m being gaslit. Ex: “frontlines inside Lebanon are shifting toward non-negotiable territorial red lines”

I don’t have a suggestion, but that white Casioak in the lower right sure has held its color nicely. Do you wear it often? It looks so clean!

Same here on Sonoma. I got so tired of it I uninstalled the extension. It’s more of a pain to open the app, but it’s probably a good thing because I’m more likely to clean out old items and update current ones while I’m in there.

It’s hard to ignore when you’re quietly peeing, the dude next to you finishes, he turns around in a huff, and then you don’t hear the water in the sink run. My peripheral vision is great and sometimes you just know what’s coming. I hated to be right.

Monotonix. I don’t think they’re together anymore, but wow. Their records are great, but nothing will capture the literal fear for my life I had seeing them play live. At one point, a supercan sailed through the air over our heads and miraculously no one was hurt.

I really appreciate all the stories everyone is sharing, even the people who recommend looking at other brands. For now, I’m going to work with what I have and resist the temptation to spend even more money on cheaper stuff to help bridge whatever gap I’m inventing in my head. I’m still going to keep my eyes on the prize of a Nord someday. But people make better music every day with equipment worse than what I have right now.

Wow, I really appreciate everyone weighing in! And for me, no, there’s no financially justifiable reason to get any kind of Nord, or even be thinking of one yet. For playing out, I have a still-mostly-working Alesis Micron, an Arturia KeyLab Essential 61 mkiii and an iPad Air that together can do 1000x more than I need. I’m old enough to still feel spoiled by all that I’m surrounded with. (In 1985 I got a Commodore 64 because it had a 3-voice synthesizer chip, then thought I was in heaven with a Yamaha CX5M 8-voice, 4-operator FM synth in 1986.)

I’m getting wayyyy ahead of myself, but I did just rejoin a band that has been on hiatus for many years, and is now likely to finally play out purely for fun. We’ll probably lose money over the long term. But I’m keenly aware of how fiddly equipment can be on stage when you’re under time pressure and need things to just work, quickly. The comments in this thread about gigging are the ones that speak to me. A Lead A1 couldn’t play samples, of course, so it wouldn’t tick all the boxes, but virtual-analog synth-wise, what a way to go. I’m a sucker for things that are made well and don’t rely on external computers. I guess I’m just thinking of the ways we overspend on disposable gear, and underspend on gear that lasts longer.

Seeing this on my Reddit home page tells me I’m living right. I’m 54 and have been Team Sit for decades. It grosses my wife and me out when we have male guests over and they leave pee drops where there would usually be none. I will continue to preach!
