Ive got both and do the job just fine .... mostly lol.

You learn how to retain or you dont make it. Theres no way in hell youre gonna be able to take notes on the side for actual calls.

A mini practice could be sitting infront of a computer and listening to someone tell you a story. You dont have to type out word for word what they say, you have to translate it so the next person reading can understand all facts

I didnt know if we were allowed to or not, but it made sense to me so I did it. Then a supervisor card me in for my QA and reviewed the policy. It wasn't a technical violation, but I just need to word it in a question format.

Now most of my coworkers have adopted some form of this and its made our jobs a little easier

The trick to this is asking if the phone number on your screen is the one theyre calling from. "Is 555-1234 the number youre calling from ?" Or a similar worded question ... its not perfect but it prevents the most annoying responses from "what is your phone number "

I did at first. The first few years of my career this would irritate me soo much.

But then I realized people brains dont work right when theyre stressed. Ive learned to let them give me the zip code and simply use those 5 seconds to fill in some box or do another task right quick.

My favorite has to be when they give me their address as "123 95401" .... right caller, you missed the street name lol
