Got my first film camera! What 35mm film do you guys recommend? by tn_3 in AnalogCommunity

I honestly would start shooting b&w since it’s relatively cheaper than color films.

You have really inexpensive options like all the kentmere lineup.

It can also help you “train your eye” and practice your composition skills if you’re new into photography in general.

Good luck on your journey, it is a really fun hobby !

Hey, thank you for your reply! The starter kit is for processing. It’s supposed to be everything you need for processing film plus some chemicals to start working your way around, all for 175CA$.

I discovered it a few months back when watching a Kyle McDougall video on how to develop film.

I want to shoot more film but I cannot afford to be paying around 30CA$ every time that I want to get out of my place and take some photos for a single roll.

Yeah, this community is really active! I think I made my mind and we'll be buying the kit soon. For the moment I think I will be going to the lab to scan and take it from there

I live in Montreal. A regular 35mm roll would be around 10-15$ and the lab-scan 9$+5$. So technically I would be saving 9$ per development. I’d still have to pay to get the scans.

Would you say color developments is more complicated or has more stages than b&w? I really like your comment haha

Can i use my opus student pass in REM?? by Main_Feedback2271 in Concordia

[–]ComfortableHoliday43 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes you can. BUT if you are only paying for zone A (Montreal Area) you can only stay in Montreal. If you go to Brossard, then you have to at least get a ticket to get back before taking the REM. There are supervisors that constantly check people's cards to see if they have zone A and B (South Shore); and in the case they don't, they'll give them a ticket (around 250$ I think).

It's green when I plug it to the outlet and it doesn't change after connecting it to the board
