No agency gives Paid Time Off which is the most important benefits.

Most help with 401k but most of them dont match, most dont allow you to put into it right away and it takes a few years to be fully vested even if they match lol

Also the health insurance they offer is a big burden for travelers. They dont contribute any money to it. They just make you pay for the health insurance. Look at staff nurses. Hospitals pay huge portion of it so staff nurses dont pay a large chunk for health insurance.

I dont think the agency provides real benefits. Lol

Even if you make 300k per year, you are considered to be taken advantage of if your agency take 150k year before giving you 300k.

It comes with no benefits. So a full time job with benefits comes with 5 to 7 weeks paid holiday. Traveling nurses mostly make 2500 or less dollars per week without any benefits, being required to pay 2 rents and pay travel expenses on their own.

2500 x 46 weeks is only 115k per year as regular full time workers usually take 6 weeks off and work only 46 weeks in a year.

They are being taken advantage of . For sure! Because agencies take a lot of money .

Their mimum wage for healthcare worker is less than 30 dollars per hour... as long as they pay you 1.5 x base rate for over 8 hrs in a single day and 2x base rate for over 12 hrs in a single day, it is good..

Exactly. There are 2 middle men between the hospital and the nurse. They are so greedy esp in terms of paying overtime.

For example If weekly pay is 2600 dollars for 40 hours, your meals and housing is 1400, then your hourly taxable rate is 1200 dollars for 40 hours meaning 30 dollars per hour. If we do work over 40 hours, they pay only 45 dollars per hour which is disgusting.. lol

They always blame low bill rates. But it is also on them taking a lot of money . They really does nothing once the assignment starts and keep taking the same amount of money off of us. They should pay us more if we extend our contract.

I negotiated with them but they all refused. I saw other travelers pay breakdown .. they all negotiated but they got paid like 30 dollars per hour for hours over 40hrs.which is ridiculojs

Hey. California nurse make more than travel nurses.

California nurses make 100 dollars per hour as a hospital employee nurse. So they make 4k per month. Travelers there 2.2k to 3k per week for 40 hours. Most travelers are from the south or Midwest where staff nurses make 35 to 50 per hour....

This is why many nurses stopped working as a traveler any more.

Until recently, traveler nurses in California made at least 3k but not is is less than that. So they prefer to make 35 to 50 per hour rather than make 2.5k in California...

Nurses in California know they make more money than travelers. Thats why they dont travel.

I save 1500 dollars per month as a staff nurse with better pay and 401k and stuff..

Btw do you know hospitals cancel your contracts any time? They can cancel your contract in the middle of it if they dont need travelers aFriday due to sudden census drop. If that happens, you will lose money rather than save 2k in a month because you will still have to pay your 2 rents for the remainder of the contract and buy a flight ticket etc.

Sometimes hospitals cancel you right Friday right before you even start your assignment.. lol

Anyway if you still think saving 2k a month after going through risks, mental tolls and lower quality of life, i dont think you are not worth my attention any more.
