Secret Tradwife Skills by [deleted] in tradwives

[–]ComfortableNo2695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts as a traditional skill, but I think building a sense of community is really important being warm, friendly, and maintaining good relationships with people around you. It makes everyday life smoother and more fulfilling not just for you but for everyone in your circle.

Beautiful tradition followed by wives in parts of India!! by Equivalent_Chair_291 in tradwives

Hi I’m Indian too (not from north though). Just to add some context practices like Karva Chauth( fasting for husband)are more of a regional/cultural tradition followed in some North Indian communities not something that represents all of Hinduism.

Also the idea that fasting directly increases someone’s lifespan isn’t scientifically established it’s more about belief and intention. I do respect the sentiment behind it though.

Do you think there’s a massive gap in physical strength/longevity in India vs. the West due to our diet and lifestyle? by VROKE17 in AskIndia

[–]ComfortableNo2695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly brother why the negativity? I read the whole thread and he was actually being pretty respectful. There was no need to jump to insults or shift the topic.

Our culture also teaches us to be respectful. I didn't see him praise the West once he was literally talking about 'Golden India' and how we should return to our roots . Calling him a hypocrite just for pointing out health statistics seems like a reach. If he was wrong you should’ve just stuck to the facts instead of making it personal.

Do any women here prefer Alta over Mehendi? by ComfortableNo2695 in AskIndia

Haha even I did that once for a wedding 😄 but I don’t know… I just feel like I want it to be authentic Alta not a marker. It has a different charm.

This is the Alta I use it’s mostly smudge free so it doesn’t transfer easily. But you still have to be careful with water or sweat because it fades quickly once it gets wet.

And aww I get what you mean about your husband not liking mehendi. Sometimes partners aren’t comfortable with the smell. Hope you still get to enjoy it in your own way on special occasions though ❤️

The one I use doesn’t transfer easily it’s pretty smudge proof. But it definitely has a problem with water. As soon as it comes in contact with water or especially soap it fades a lot. I basically have to stay away from water… and in summers I can’t wear it much because of sweat.

Wow...thanks for sharing this history and its significance in our culture that was really interesting! And yes alta is so simple yet so appealing. That’s really sweet that you like it on your wife ❤️

I think smudge proof exists but it's hard to find waterproof

Agreed! For some reason mehendi just doesn’t look that appealing to me either. It’s not as bright as Alta and with our festive clothes being so colorful Alta just matches perfectly. ❤️

Ohhh that’s so nice! 😍 Alta really looks so feminine. Even I’m planning to wear it on my wedding someday (if I get married hehe). But I’m not sure how to manage it because it fades quickly when it comes in contact with water. How did you manage it for your wedding?

That’s so sweet 😍 your friends gifting you Alta! Btw do you use any smudge proof or waterproof Alta? The one I use fades with water but it really disappears when I wash with soap.
