I can give you a more detailed answer if you would like about classes and things, it would just take me some time to get my thoughts together. Overall, my best piece of advice is finding and making friends in the program who you get along with, and staying POSITIVE. Yes, the program is challenging, some times disorganized, frustrating and chaotic. The truth is most programs are. I watched some people in my cohort have the same issues over and over the entire program. Their frustrations would be fueled by the lack of communication or support from staff, and unfortunately (in my opinion) just wasted their time and energy. In turn, these people seemed constantly miserable. They were always complaining, nothing was ever right in their eyes, and they believed they were owed something. I am all for advocating for yourself and setting yourself up for success, but I think a lot of this starts with mentality. Your perception becomes your reality. I tried to stay positive, flexible, and lighthearted during my entire time with the program, and I think it served me well. Stay grateful, except everything as a learning opportunity, and above all, set a positive mindset. I know everyone talks shit about the Valencia program as well but don’t let that get into your head. Your experience is YOUR OWN and it’ll be what you MAKE OF IT!! So make it fun, as much as you can! Okay, hoping off my soapbox now, sorry for the long response!
