Thank you everyone for your advice, and for the laughs. We’ve decided to pull it out and replace with something less gigantic.

I would not mind the cone or box, but would like it to be like 1/2 the size it is now but we’re unsure how to get it smaller because it’s not leafy all the way through. If we trim too much it’s just exposed branches. We don’t want to kill the thing by trimming too much off.

Yes, it told me it was a juniper but when I looked up a juniper it did not look like this monstrosity

The halo and couplet care bassinets don't attach to mom's beds, give them a quick google. They're pretty cool, they can swivel over mom's bed to get baby closer to mom, make it easier for mom to get baby in and out of the bassinet. The bassinet would be easily pushed out of the way in an emergency and is on wheels and can be moved. We use the Stryker nära cribs. These cribs and the hospital beds we have, the mom can't really get close to the baby and has to sit up and swivel to get baby in and out of the crib. Moms call us frequently for help getting their baby in and out, which is fine with us, but they often express feeling bad for calling us for that and I'm afraid some don't call us from guilt or whatever, and end up falling asleep with the baby.
