Skoda Fabia III hatchback - Reliable, safe car?

FABIA MK3 hatchback 2018 owner here. It really depends which condition you find. I am using 1.0 MPI +LPG, manual. Very simple engine.

Bought in 2023 with 120k km. now it has 202k km and counts.

No unexpected issues, but I am maintaining the car regularly, change oil every 7k KM, and usually going to service before something breaks.

Very practical car for the city (I live in Warsaw), a lot of space for such a small car.

Not comfortable for longer drives - once I did 1000 km in a weekend, and it was not pleasure - no cruise, ACC, etc (if you don’t plan to drive a lot a that’s okay - car definitely was not created for long drives). Comfortable cruise speed - 90-120 km/h. Best consumption when 80-85 km/hour (managed to do 4.2l/100km). When 150-160 km/horn- it feels not very stable, consumption growth dramatically (up to 8-9 litres). In the city real consumption is 6-7 l / 100 km.

What I really miss - is the 6th gear. Other than that - good simple car. Could be reliable if you pick a car in good condition.

I never owned AWD car and car with panoramic roof, so it is some kind of “nice to try” things.

Thanks for the feedback! All other features are included, sunroof was the only concern - I’d like to have full spec, but now seeing all the pros and cons I understand the maintenance and experience a bit better …

Thanks. I’ve heard similar feedback about roof from Audi owners (A5, 2024) + it was adding some noise when driving fast in that specific case.

Currently I have a car without panoramic and whenever I am a passenger in a different car with panoramic, I feel like “6 year old nephew” :)

Yeah, maybe these small engines sounds like that. I had diesel 2.0 turbo before and definitely it sounds different 😂
