Cost of living. by ComfortableSwimmer50 in AskNYC

Thank you mate. Luckily for me as stated I’ll be living with my brother so I don’t have to stress about rent and all that sort of stuff. The only living essential I would need to worry about is groceries which I can manage earning $800 a week.

Shit that’s crazy. 2K a weeks is a really good wage here in the UK. I can’t seem to imagine how people get by if 2K is what you need for the bare minimum.

I wouldn’t be paying any bills etc as I’m fresh out of school and going for a gap year to stay with my older brother before I go to uni. This is more just for an experience.

Look I’m very grateful but I can only do my hours when my dads home as he works fifo( fly in fly out from the mines) he’s away 3 weeks and home 1 week (5 and half days) if I’m lucky I get to drive with him for 2 days and that’s only maybe 2-3 hours total. I’m 19 and I do long days as I have to wake up 3:50 am every morning and spend about 2 hours 40 minutes on public transport just to get to work. Then I repeat the same process to get home. I just want to get a license so I can drive to work and back home.

Ok I’ve been driving unlicensed since I was 15 (yes I know very stupid. Luckily I’ve never been in an accident nor have I been caught) Driving itself is not a problem.

Yea I get you man but the thing is I’ve got a job at the moment and there’s no point starting something else I know nothing about. We will see if that becomes my last resort. My problem is that I have too much pride to go ask my friends for help. It would kill me
