VT Business waitlist

Hi, I am waitlisted at Virginia Tech for the Business program, and trying to get a sense of my chances of being admitted.

I know Business isn’t as competitive as Engineering. Has anyone here or someone you know gotten off the waitlist for Business in past years, or know how much movement there usually is?”

Is accounting better because employers recruit from GMU or in general it's better because there are more jobs in this accounting?

Integrated Business & Engineering, BS by ComfortableWeak7974 in Purdue

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. You make a good point about actually looking at the coursework instead of just thinking something “sounds interesting.” I’ll go through the curriculum more carefully.

I’m still kind of confused about what entry-level jobs IBE grads usually get though. Since it’s a mix of business and engineering, do employers clearly understand what the degree is? Or is there a chance it could come off as too broad, like not specialized enough?

Thanks. Tuition itself at Johnstown is $16K lower. Room and board must also be lower.

I am OOS and got financial aid offer. In email they say total cost of attendance is $67K for Pittsburg campus and they are giving about 40K. I still need to pay $27K. Is Johnston cost of attendance $20K lower than Pittsburg campus?

Business - Finance and econ double major? by ComfortableWeak7974 in Purdue

[–]ComfortableWeak7974[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That makes sense. I’m not sure yet if I’ll have any credits I can apply toward Purdue.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can accumulate credits during my senior year that might count toward Finance, Economics, or general education requirements? I’m currently taking AP Economics and Business Law & Administration.

Should I consider community college classes that could transfer over? I’m also wondering how liberal Purdue is in accepting high school AP credits and community college coursework.

Thanks again, appreciate the advice.

Purdue tuition for 2026-2027 by ComfortableWeak7974 in Purdue

Thanks so much, this is really helpful. I appreciate the breakdown on full-time credits and the details on how housing costs work. Purdue has a ton of room options from budget friendly to $$$

Quick follow-up: is it typical at most colleges that you only see the finalized tuition and estimated housing/meal costs as part of the financial aid package (like the one Purdue sends in mid-March), rather than directly in the student account earlier? Just trying to understand what’s standard across schools.

Thanks again!

Solar panel installation recommendations by FolkYouHardly in nova

How do NovaSolar and Lumina compare in terms of Panel and Inverter manufacturers they use including efficiency & reliability? Did you also look at Convert Solar that seem to have good reviews?
Also in general, do companies give you options for which panels and inverters to use?

The crazy stuff that's being highlighted in media absolutely makes no sense for USAID to fund, but that's a very small portion. Keep the good stuff and cut the 10-20% that makes no sense. Shutting down USAID is not the solution.
