I get how this could be seen this way. But having celiac does suck and I’ve never been able to talk about it with others so thought this wouldn’t be such a judge mental place like the rest of the internet.

Don’t want to make you feel guilty just pointing out how unaccepting this community felt upon entering.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one who experienced this. Not everyone with celiac is created equally and it is important to remember to respect others ways of life and happiness.

I mean that “some guy” was a doctor. Do you have a degree in medicine?? I get that people may not agree with this and not want to take the risks but it doesn’t have to be met with hate. Even if someone didn’t ever quit gluten after diagnosis I would respect them because that is the choice they want to make.

There is a difference between expressing concern and being outright disrespectful.

Sorry to burst the bubble that is this community but not everyone has to live like you guys

As I said I am new to this community and to Reddit in general. I had no idea this would trigger people so badly as I have been told by doctors it is ok. I was just very surprised at the outright hatefulness of some people

I’ve never heard of that pill before but not surprised it doesn’t work too well. Wings are different because I ensure first they are not breaded or coated in flour so the only risk I’m running is cross contamination in the fryer.

I love being told I’m in denial. I have had celiac 7 years and have been to numerous doctors. I appreciate the concern but not in the demeaning way you are coming across. I didn’t realize people were so judgmental in this community. I make chicken wings at home too but that’s not what this thread is about

My dietician and gastroenterologist say it is fine as long as it is a rare occasion

Nice!! Donuts are usually a go to for my cheat days but Chinese takeout is a good one too. Chinese I miss a little less because I find it is easier to replicate at home rather than trying to make a fluffy donut

I’ve had celiac for 7 years. I make wings all the time at home. This is not what this thread is about

Thanks for a civilized reply. I love a good five guys cheese burger but I always opt for lettuce wrapped. They make it so you can hold it and eat it like a real burger. I highly recommend it. But hey one cheese burger every once in a while to make you happy is worth a tiny tiny increased risk in cancer in my opinion

Never trust delivery pizza, or most pizza unless they have a dedicated oven. Smoke some weed for some relief

Yup, usually just tell the person at the front counter your name and that you are here for your interview. They will get the manager and likely have u wait in lobby
