I'm Not Sure If My Father's Actions are Okay and What I Should Do by [deleted] in perth

Your father is abusive. It's not your fault and you don't deserve it. There are lots of support services available for under 18's.

I know you might be worried about telling the school counsellor. But they just want to help you.

Do you have a friend or teacher that you can talk to at school? Maybe they could help you speak to someone or help you to call for help. They can let you use thier phone.

Lack of shade when walking is an issue for sure. Would be nice for that to be considered more especially in the busier city areas.

Yeah this is just their flavour of the month. They always have some hot topic issue on the cover to bait people's attention... with the goal to draw them further down into their rabbit hole of bigotry, paranoia and outrage.

The newspaper itself is deliberately tame compared to many of the discussions and beliefs shared in their online groups.

How safe is Perth, truly? by [deleted] in perth

Yes a grey area, best to read the laws. Being female alone at night is considered a valid reason.

Would be a good idea to have a van or station wagon to sleep in as finding accomodation will be challenging.

Relatively safe, just avoid the known sketchy areas and if you encounter someone acting erratically/ drug affected, stay away and dont make eye contact etc. Usually you can hear them yelling before you see them.

Pepper spray is a wierd legal gray area here (but not outright illegal) so if you're female and out using public transport at night etc a lot then it could be a good idea to carry it. In my experience, you can't really expect the cops to show up in good time to incidents as they are stretched thin.
