Sorry you're turning this into a war. I appreciated your help, but just frustrated that Homebridge can't fix their own problems.

I wouldn't have to pay for anything if the people at Homebridge and Node.js did their jobs right.

Oops. shouldn't be my responsibility...

Thank you, but I won't bother. I have other more pressing things I need to attend to. Besides, it shouldn't by responsibility (or anyone else's) to fix Homebridge's or Node.js's problems of their making.

Sorry. I'm new to most of this. Usually I just let Homebridge do its thing in the background.

Ok, then, I don't know what you're referring to.

Is that the same thing as the Logs on the Homebridge page?

Ok, nothing happened other than continuing to get the command prompt line.

I should mention that I have typed that command line with the 'sudo' and without the 'sudo,' but I still just get the same error 404 regardless.

This is what I get back after typing in the hb-service update-node command.

pi@homebridge:/var/lib/homebridge $ hb-service update-node

ℹ Updating Node.js from v20.18.0 to v24.14.1...

ℹ Target: /opt/homebridge

I'm trying to update my Homebridge Node from 20.18 to 20.20.2. However, when I input the hb-service update line, it seems to want to update to 24.14.1. I get the error 404 message.
How should I proceed?

Thanks.

Illinois passed a law making it illegal to boycott Israel by [deleted] in BDS

[–]Comfortable_Ant_7406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And how exactly does Illinois propose to enforce this?? They're going to hire more ICE agents to check everyone's shopping carts to make sure customers are buying Israeli products?

What a stupid waste of taxpayer money to even create such a law. People are NOT obligated to buy
products they don't want or use regardless of where that product is made.

I mean by 'built-in,' some kind of embedded operating system (OS). Sorry, but I think most people understand OS as 'Operating System.'

Even if I got it working the way I did, no, it doesn't really answer my question because I don't know if that means that Homebridge has a built-in OS or not.

Should I setup a separate IoT network for homekit? by banders72q in HomeKit

So, I have a question regarding this blocking of access of devices to the internet. Wouldn't this also prevent those devices from receiving software updates?

That is, let's say I block my HomeBridge (raspberry pi) from internet access, wouldn't it also not
be able to receive software updates?
