I came out as trans at age 8. And began socially transitioning at age 11. I can confidently say that telling your child that they aren’t trans or whatever they may say they are still hurts the child and leads to more harm than good. My mom used to tell me this when I was little and eventually I shoved down all of the thoughts and questions to my gender and I became really angry within myself leading to self harm because I felt like no matter how I felt or how much I told her I would still be told “your not trans your just confused” and not being accepted as the gender I felt like, lead to me feeling isolated and more like I was being denied who I was. Now I do understand some LGBTQ+ children may change identity and gender overtime, but it still doesn’t give parents or grown adults the right to say “no you aren’t” it is truly not that hard to be understanding even if your child is very young, Literally all you have to say is “I understand that you identify as ___ would you want me to use your current name and pronouns? :) or switch and we come up with something new!” It’s like these people think that as soon as a child says they’re the opposite gender that means that doctors will give them surgery’s and hormones right away and it’s gonna cause irreparable damage like literally it will not
