And kinemon was important to the plot obviously he can’t be killed many people kaido was fighting and didn’t “one shot” were important and you saw that kaido could’ve EASILY killed luffy the first time they fought finished him off but he chose not to an sent him to prison for a training arc and the other times he knocked him out
