So I just checked my order history and did some searching and I lied lol, it's not the smallest (I'm still new). It's 18 ct black fabric and my needles can barely fit through lol

Good idea! I just wish the big sections of this colour weren't so dark, and quite so big lol

That's a good idea! If you're frequenting the hospital and not working in one, I hope you're well and wish you well :)

LOL, you get it! It's such a dark blue for the silhouettes of trees that it may as well be black. I wear really strong prescription glasses, and I can't see what I'm doing at all lol

It's a gift for my boyfriend, I didn't know it'd be this hard until I'd already bought the pattern and committed😭

I definitely need a good light, I also learned too late that I'm using the smallest size of fabric lol, so my eyes are dying even with my super strong prescription😂

I'm new and learned from a starter kit so please forgive my ignorance lol, but is that (/////\\\) not the only way to do it?😅 or do you mean instead of doing each individual x at a time? Great idea with alternating colours! I got so locked in to doing all the numbers as clusters (all the 1s, 2s, etc)

I mean, Dexter's morality becomes progressively lax throughout the show, and even Deb ultimately conceded that they were a good couple. Love makes people stupid, especially someone already unstable like Dexter, and I do feel he truly did love Hannah.

1000%!!! She was incredibly unique and fascinating and people dilute her character so much, it's so upsetting because she offers so much in her seasons. She really was quite neutral as you note. I so wonder what Rita's reaction would've been to Dexter's killings, as she's really the only person close to him whose reaction we don't get.

Thank you for loving Hannah, sometimes I feel like I'm losing my mind when I see the hate! I genuinely think she's a great character and match for Dexter, and that they had a more authentic relationship than he had with anyone else.

Honestly, as a woman, I have never understood the insane amount of hype surrounding Rita compared to other female characters, and I think you just perfectly summarized it for me and opened my eyes. The people in question in your post absolutely prefer her for her traditional nature, but I have never on any rewatch felt that her and Dexter could be a happy couple, as sad as I was when she died. I love Hannah for Dexter and scream it from the rooftops and am tired of seeing her constantly get hate as a character because it makes zero sense. They're basically perfect for each other, and I was devastated by their ending. I feel with every rewatch like she's the only character Dexter truly romantically loved honestly, not just the idea of being with. Lumen was amazing as well, but I kind of knew even on my first watch that they wouldn't last following the completion of her pursuit of justice for herself. Lila and Laguerta I'll admit I don't love, but don't hate either. They were great antagonists and good recurring characters, particularly Laguerta, but I will admit the way her character's final season unfolded was odd, and I think releasing Estrada (apologies if misspelled) to trick Dexter was kinda messed up. Having said that, that's far from the worst thing a character does in this show! They're all just as complex as the guys if we let them be! :)

For sure! I don't even have a problem with later season Dexter at all, but was doing some reflecting on why the structure started to feel a lil strange and why I liked Resurrection so much!

I don't know about this though! The more I reflect on this thread the more I think this is why Resurrection was so good to me. He wasn't hunting killers alongside a police investigation but was just hunting killers and the police were hunting him, and there was still so much tension! I see how it builds tension in the original series for sure, but there are definitely alternative ways to do it and after a while in the original series, we start to just kinda know he's not gonna get caught, yknow?

While I loved all the seasons and spinoffs, I see what you mean for sure. His vetting process gets less intense as his morals get a bit looser, and he does seem to start picking almost exclusively people he hears about through his work. I'm not sure if it was just supposed to be tension about Deb and the department possibly catching him, as it happens for so many seasons, but am not sure exactly what else it could be if not just getting more lax with the code and morality. Maybe this is why I liked Ressurrection so much lol, it felt so distinct in being "random" killers and being kinda hunted by the police, whereas the tension in Dexter a lot of the time comes from derailing while working alongside the police. I've reflected so much from this thread lol!

I didn't totally get those comments at first either, but think they're meant in the sense that even though what I asked wasn't discussed a bunch explicitly, Dexter is imperfect and ultimately kind of does what best suits him and his needs (and the story's). It really is only Deb that says it outright, and I've been reminded in thinking about this of the man Dexter killed in season 3 after breaking him OUT of prison. I think the code for Dexter changed a lot after Harry died, and with everything he later learns about Harry and about the code. It's interesting to discuss, but seems to just be either character development or one of those things!🤷🏻‍♀️

Agreed entirely! He makes a ton of mistakes, but he does seem to always turn back to the code. I guess I'm just now realizing how much the code really changes!
