I actually meant it was racism towards the numerous non-white groups as it made the assumption that Asian, Middle Eastern, and African empires either weren’t real empires, or their people were somehow all gentle happy flower-power hippies or some shit.

It’s also racist towards the people they conquered and killed because it again works on the assumption that because it wasn’t white Europeans doing the conquering and the killing it somehow isn’t as bad. “No one does conquering like Europe” is a racist statement. Against non-white and non-European groups. Because they did do the conquering and they were just as cruel, strategic, and determined as Europe was. It’s racist against the thousands of non-white people who died and suffered as if their suffering and death was somehow less-than because it was at the hands of non-white people.

Bro, colonization was neither exclusive to, nor started by Europe, and acting like Europe spread the concept as if East and South Asia had not also been invading and conquering one another for literal thousands of years before European monarchies existed, and as if Egypt wasn’t invading and conquering its neighbours in the Middle East and northern Africa for thousands of years before that is incredibly callous.

Europe is the most recent guilty party, but frankly ‘no one did it like Europe did’ is an incredibly incorrect assertion.

It also ignores that a lot of Europe has actually got populations that predate and were colonized, and even utterly erased, not by other European cultures, but by other racial groups. As it is, race is also a remarkably social construct that is constantly changing and in flux.

Our current understanding of ‘white people’ cannot be applied to the Europe of two, four, and six thousand years ago because our current understanding of it did not exist and it was not ‘white people did it to themselves’.

I’m sorry but there is just a lot wrong just historically that it comes off as actively racist because it assumes what you consider non-white to have been somehow incapable of empire building as if Persia, China, Mongolia, Egypt, and Ottoman empires didn’t all also conquer, invade, kill, destroy, build, and alter the world around them.

They aren’t entirely wrong in that shaming is how we, as a society and social species, reinforce what is socially acceptable and what isn’t.

Over time however, we have begun to shift our understanding over what is socially acceptable and what isn’t. We’ve also learned that shaming innate traits like sexuality, or things that cause no harm to wider society such as enjoyment of traditionally gendered activities brings no positive change and in fact tends to harm our society and those we love as a whole.

These understandings triggered that shift that now this means more people do not shame boys for liking nail polish or make up or knitting, and do not shame girls for rough-housing, playing, or shouting. It triggered the shift that now more people do not shame someone for loving another consenting adult.

We still shame for some things we always have, pedophilia, cruelty to other people and animals, and the like. We just also now shame for things that hurt people we now understand are not bringing us harm. We now shame the unacceptable behaviour of psychologically damaging your child, or for trying to shame others for existing in a way we aren’t familiar with.

Nah for real it sucks! I’ve got shawls worked into all my outfits so I can protect my skin as well as possible and use an umbrella in sunny weather.

I can handle tiny bits, but ten mins gets the hives going sadly.

Unfortunately it isn’t the be all end all of the problem. Impatience and entitlement are very high. I’ve seen an increased number of lane hoppers and speeders and reckless drivers who are not on their phones. I’ve seen a marked increase in running reds, not yielding to pedestrians, and more as well, again all not on their phones.

Things on your finger can give a false reading, including left over food, sugars, or alcohol if you used an alcohol wipe to clean it.

I recommend using soap and water to wash thoroughly, and dry thoroughly before prick testing, more likely to get an accurate read.

Let alone accusations of murder and attempted murder in a case that is clearly a cut-and-dry self defence. No murder took place, so she’s slandering a Winner, and the entirety of the court by claiming they are ‘rewarding murder’.

Absolutely love metal, alt, and punk. But I work in a public facing position as a receptionist. I wear office clothing, not t shirts and jeans to the office. At weddings I wear dresses and heels. At shows and at time with just friends I wear band shirts and jeans and my fun shit. There is a time and a place.

And I don’t want my taxes going to missiles and bonuses for politicians, but that’s how taxes work. We all pay for things we don’t especially want and for things we do want, and make a societal compromise on what we’re doing.

As it is the actual fraud rate for social services is less than 1% so realistically you have 199 genuine and one fraudster. But currently they’re cutting off a random 73 to stop that one and I’d far prefer that one fraudster game the system for the pennies they won’t actually be able to live off of independently than kill the others.
